It should be interesting to see what Rogers offers. I'm really wanting a new phone. I don't think I've said "Piece of sh*t iPhone" more times since upgrading to iOS4 (I've got a 3G).

I am just surprised that there is nothing from any of the big 3 yet.
I am with Bell, and I am getting the new phone. But I'd like to see my options in plans, costs, upgrades etc. Can I preorder? Do I have to line up?
I kinda expected the announcements to come today, but I guess they are keeping us all on the edge of our seats!

A post on Macrumors on the forums by someone says they recieved an email from Bell:
Bell is bringing the 30$ 6GB Data plan that Rogers and Fido offered in the past, with the option of a 10$ a month addon to add your iPad 3G to the account.
If it`s true, then no doubt in my mind Rogers will bring the same plan back. Rejoice! (Currently paying 25 for 1GB i believe)

Visited a Rogers store today. They're not doing pre-orders. Too much uncertainty about the number of units they'll have at launch. I'll see YOU in line at 8am. Weather looks nicer than it did for the 3G launch...God that was a cold morning.

Which Roger's store do you prefer? My plan was to wait outside of a mall at 5am, but I don't think the mall doors open until later than 8am.
edit: I just called the Rogers Plus on Richmond Road and they said they won't have any iPhone4's for the launch Friday.

Yeah that's what I did when I got my 3G, I went to a mall early, fortunately the mall was open pretty early and I ended up waiting inside for the most part, can't remember how early though.

There's some talk about the $30 6GB plan coming back for a short time (like it did for the previous two launches). This time, though, there is also some talk of a $10 optional iPad link.

If this was a Bell exclusive I'd probably cry a little. Hopefully when Rogers had that leak at the iPad launch ($10 to add your ipad to your data pool) they were just preparing it for this. That would be awesome.

Can't line up at Apple in Van Friday, hoping they still have some in the afternoon that day though.
I really don't know what to get for a data plan.

Dad? DAD!? Where the hell have you been? You went out for smokes 19 years ago ... mom and I have been freaking out!
Thank god you're getting an iPhone. No more OwnThisWorld at random wifi hotspots around the downtown core. I suppose it's about time an iPhone developer actually bought an iPhone hey?

I'm with bell and was thinking about trying to by a gently used 3GS from someone...
I currently have a Samsung Instinct with Bell, but I don't think I have a sim card...
does anyone know if it's just as simple as me telling Bell I've bought a 3gs and want them to activate it in place of my Instinct? (I know it needs to be a Bell iphone or unlocked)...
Any advise would be appreciated.

If you are on a non-sim card plan you are still on the CDMA plan. Bell might give some hassle porting over the identical plan to a GSM one.
When and if you decide to switch to GSM, you can just put the sim card in the iPhone if it is unlocked or Bell locked.

Technically speaking, Bell and Telus are HSPA, not GSM - it can be a very important detail.

Does that mean they will give me trouble if I want to have them activate an iphone for me in the middle of the contract currently based around my crummy non-sim card Samsung Instinct?
