Hell, Microsoft never once responded to those ######ed mac vs pc ads, even though some of them bordered on ridiculous.

IMO better PR would have been along the lines of "Apple revolutionized the smart phone, we have revolutionized touch screen interfaces, and as an industry innovator and leader, we will solve this problem as well"

Instead we get "but THEY DO IT TOOO!!!! WAH WAH WAH!!!!"

Microsoft took a TON of heat for not responding to the Get a Mac campaign and when the finally decided to get in the game, the released ads staring a retired employee and an irrelevant comic who talked about loafers and chiros. It took them YEARS to come up with a half decent campaign. Windows 7 was My Idea
...and those ######ed ads got quite a few awards including Adweek's Campaign of the Decade so, what HotHotHeat said.

Microsoft sells 10 Windows 7 licenses per second, so I doubt they're worried about any ads Apple runs.

And Apple will likely surpass Microsoft in earnings for the first time ever this quarter.

Share of mind is just as important as market share.

I never once said the ads were ineffective - they were perfect as they reached out to the large group of uneducated people in regards to computing.

They were highly effective and I would be stupid to say anything else. Doesn't change the fact that they were ######ed however.

I was just pointing out that Apple was loving it when they could take small problems and blow them up out of proportion to gain market share and promote their product, but now when the shoe is on the other foot (small problem with iPhone 4 getting blown out of proportion and uneducated masses eating it up) they cry like little girls.

Edit: Even the robot phones are in the $599 range. $150 more for an iPhone 4 isn't bad, when you consider the extra storage and higher resolution screen.

(Translation: Smart phones are expensive in general. Too expensive? I'm not sure. I'd like them to be cheaper, but it's not like they're not worth the money.)

I`ll be buying unlocked at the Apple store in market mall. Hope they have stock after work on Friday. (I don`t see the demand of the unlocked units as high as the subsidized carrier locked units)
Still debating on 16GB vs 32GB. Probably go for 16 as I have an iPad as well.

Bigger is better. Especially if you have the option to record HD video.

I assume the line at market mall will be huge all day.

Pretty sure my 3gs was purchased after the 7th, so I think I'm out of luck. I wasn't really thinking of upgrading anyway, but the option would be cool to have.
