There would be no good reason they all wouldn't have it available on that day. Bell will also have it. Of course actually getting an iPhone right away will be another story. But I would assume you could buy it and just wait for it to be shipped to you.
No one has released pricing, but I would guess $200 for the 16GB and $300 for the 32GB all with a 3 year contract. I think for the last 2 iPhone releases Rogers has offered a 6GB per month data plan for $30. I doubt that will happen this go around though.
When I talk to Rogers about it I am going to want a discount in my voice package otherwise I am walking to another carrier.

Speaking of plans...
Does anyone use an iphone for work currently?
I am trying to figure out what a good plan would be for me. I will be working 24/7 on call with the phone and doing a tonne of Long distance in Canada and the USA. I will also be a pretty heavy Data user. From what i can see at Fido and Rogers they do not offer any long distance plans on the iphone?
Anyone have recommendations for me?

Should be interesting to see how the antenna problem plays out in Canada. AT&T is such a rough provider (it seems) compared to anything we have up here, and it seems that in the states anybody with strong AT&T service doesn't notice the problem nearly as much as those in weaker zones.

Since the confessions thread in off topic no longer exists, I guess I'll post it here.
I just ordered an iPhone. I feel dirty.

I received this email earlier today from a guy at Rogers Redboard. I guess it's some kind of Rogers official blog.

->lock button, ->unlock screen,->emergency call ->back button ->unlock code.
APITA, but better than shutting on/off to get back to the home screen.
AARGH, I need a new phone.

Technically yes. I can't imagine not having my phone in a case, especially once with glass on the back. I love the style of the phones and wish I could go sans case, but I'm too paranoid.

So, $69 to fix the home button on the 3G. Not bad.
If there are too many delays on the 4, I might get sick of the hoops I'm jumping through to open the thing up. I've read if you jailbreak there's an app to change the home button to a swipe at the top of the screen, as well.

So I've got a question for current iphone users:
I typically use my Blackberry for email, google talk, and surfing sites like Calgarypuck. I seem to use my BB for more surfing than anything else.
No idea how much data I use in doing this, but I'd considering the iPhone4 as I like the bigger screen.
I'm currently a Bell customer, and just wondering how much data to get? 1GB, 2GB? How much do you current iPhone users typically use in a month?

I don't think I ever come close to 1GB.

Quick question for all the iphone users.
Currently my wife and I use Blackberries but we need new phones. As it stands now we use the BB calander to make sure our schedules are in sync. With two kids and my wife working shift work it is important that each of use knows what each others schedule is.
When I make a doctors appointment etc.. I set it up in my BB and I "invite" her Once she accepts it automatically goes into her Calendar without any further input.
Can this be done on the iphone without having to pay for a mobile me type service? We pay enough for phone service and do not really want to pay more.

If you're on Rogers it does expire. Mine is up sometime in 2011.

GOAT!

July 2011 for me. I might phone and argue that, though. I had to sign a new 3 year contract last year when I got the 3GS... which means my current plan should have been extended by 1 year.
...or at least that's what I will argue with them.

This has probably been discussed but I can't find it, any 3G users have a horrible experience with iOS 4? It's been well documented around the web, 10+ second freezes when typing text/email, random pauses when web pages are loading (20 seconds sometimes for me), crashes etc. Only having one tab in Safari seems to help a bit, but I cannot believe Apple included the 3G with iOS4 when it is this bad. I would revert to prior but I'm not sure I have a backup, will have to check. If Apple doesn't fix this I will be reluctant to buy another iPhone next year when my contract is up.
Thanks

It's pretty much ancient technology at this point. There's nothing coming to fix performance on the 3G. It's pretty much the first gen iPhone but with a 3G radio, A-GPS and a worse battery.
