Yeah, Apple should stick to it's classy "cool dude making fun of a fat guy in a suit" commercials.

I can 100% promise you there will not be iPhone 4 reception issues in Canada.

I actually think that is pretty good looking and I wish phones still had antennas. A modern rectangular smart phone with a switchblade like antenna that popped out would be awesome.

A cell phone with a power antenna like some cars have would be even better. You could use the small motor that is used to provide the vibrate functionality to extend and retract the antenna when a call is placed or received.

Public service announcement: iphonedeathgrip.ca is available for registration. So is cellphonedeathgrip.ca if you want to market to fans of other phones too....
Others you may want to consider to cash in on this craze:
deathgripmyphone.ca
cellgrip.ca
cellgripper.ca
deathgriptechni.ca
Personally, I like deathgriptechni.ca myself, it riffs on arstechnica.com

Do you have an incoming call, or are you just happy to see me?

For the record, I will be getting an iPhone 4 (through work - mwahahaha), but the hysteria surrounding the death grip is hilarious. Like anyone is really, seriously, affected by this on a consistent basis...

I am in the process of switching jobs and have the authority to purchase said iphone 4, but I really really need it to come out July 30th or very early August 1st.
Can anyone find any confirmation from Canadian service providers or apple.ca that confirms this?
I can not find anything and the people at the stores are well questionable at best sometimes.

Apple's press conference on Friday said July 30th, so you can confirm that date.

I certainly hope you are right Kermitology.
Is there any power at Rogers/Fido/Telus to hold back the launch for their own purposes?
Also any inkling on what the service rate packages etc might entail? Also any ideas on their pricing?

Apple would make life very miserable for them if that was the case.
