The absolutely havent. I remember reading one Brazilian coach talking about it and saying that the World Cup operates on a 'Bell Curve' and you have to hit the knockout stages on the Upswing and try and hit the climax during the World Cup final.
If you start too high then you hit the knockout stages on the downswing and get knocked out.

Netherlands keeps impressing me in this tournament. It's one thing to have the talent on paper but they are executing. If Brazil goes through against Chile this morning, and based on South American qualifying you'd expect them to, that QF game looks like it's for a spot in the final.

Well, the South American magic ends today, one of the SA teams has to be going home and I'm betting they'll be wearing red rather than yellow.
