I think that's possible, although it seems unlikely that CONCACAF would recieve more than 4 spots and they currently have 3 1/2.

I wouldn't say Mexico or Honduras doing well would do anything to help Canada, but the US doing well would likely lead to an improvement in MLS which will soon have 3 Canadian teams, giving the Canadian players on Toronto Vancouver and Montreal, as well as on American teams, the chance to play against a higher level of opponent without having to play in Europe as many do now. This should lead to better young Canadian players over time.

No wonder Canada always sucks. They only send 1/2 team.

I didnt see that game, but that is not a handball. If Kewell got sent off for that then its not just harsh, its idiotic. Theres no handball there.

To be fair Kewell did move his arm slightly and the ball did hit him on the top of the arm but it was really harsh imo. The German did everything possible to clear the ball fairly. I don't believe it deserved a penalty, just joshing with a potential 2nd round opponent!

I know. Look man. I am right now, where you were 4 hours ago. Ze Germans need a win and they're not well on their way to getting it.

They're talking about taking the half spot away from South America and giving the full 4th to CONCACAF right now in FIFA. South America is basically very politically weak with only 10 votes in FIFA. I don't personally think it should happen but I know that CONCACAF officials are fighting hard for a full 4th spot. FIFA when allocating world cup spots considers lots of things and confederation performance at the World Cup is one of them.

Maybe Africa should lose a spot based on performance in 2010.

I agree. Not just for this World Cup but for the last few as well where they have sucked.
But FIFA is desperate for an African breakthrough so I doubt it.
