Well thankfully us Italians still have three other "clean" World Cup trophies to be happy about.

or they could go with Podolski up top and put Marin in at LAM where Podolski was playing

They should be able to beat Ghana if they have any hopes of winning this tournament, but it's unfortunate that they've put themselves in this situation as anything can happen....like today.
Podolski is not a winger. His game is getting to the middle and using his shot. But his finishing NEEDS to be better, it's a risk to use him up top right now as his confidence has to be shot.
Wednesday can't come quick enough.

There are many examples of cheating in football at the international level, however the 3rd goal in the 1966 World Cup final isn't one. It is akin to saying Tampa Bay cheated to win the Cup on 2004, when in reality they had nothing to do with the non-call.
Oh and to the other poster, Pearce's shot was down the middle in '90. Chris Waddle's effort was the one that went high, a la Roberto Baggio.

Yeah right, all of those favourable things just happened to occur for England when the World Cup was on home soil and the president of FIFA was an Englishman. I'm sure England had nothing to do with anything

"Clean" World Cup trophies almost always pertain to which side you are backing, they are pretty subject.

Sadly, I have no idea what happened in 1938... and I doubt you do either. It wasn't televised so I have no idea how you would have any actual knowledge about it. The thing is though, unlike England, Italy has been to the final and won the World Cup more than once. It seems kind of odd that an alleged super power has never even come close to winning anything after their 1966 victory.

Well if it makes you happy, we can change history and give the disputed goal back to W. Germany. So England wins the final 3-2.

The best story I've heard of malfeasance was the French Intelligence Service blackmailing Ronaldo in the early morning of the World Cup final in 1998 telling him to not show up for the final or else they would release pictures and evidence of him in relations with planted underage prostitutes.

Two World Wars and One World Cup, do dah, do dah!
US players flopping all over the place desperately trying to get someone sent off. Hope if backfires.

Ummm... no. Without the score being 3-2, Germany does not put all their men up high in an attempt to equalize and England do not score on the counter attack at the last minute. Your fourth goal is akin to an empty netter in hockey.
