Thats really interesting.

The cities buttons really make the map for me though, Detroit is all red but places like Washington, Seatle and Atlanta are almost all black.

The other interesting thing i noticed was people from LA tend to move out and go everywhere in the country but the NE, and all inward migration of people to LA comes from the NE.

I think Atlanta is the only one that comes close to that claim amongst the cities you mention.

According to the 2008-2010 American Community Survey,[citation needed] Blacks or African Americans made up 52.8% of Atlanta's population

I was going to guess voting records, but according to the bottom...

Source: Internal Revenue Service data. The IRS only reports inter-county moves for more than 10 people, so some moves are not shown on this map.

If there's one thing governments can do competently, it's take people's money.

Holy crap, is there anyone left in Detroit?

Hehe, nobody moves into the landlocked counties in Florida from the big cities.

Central Detroit? Not really, there's not even a full scale supermarket there. The suburbs are still surviving though, some of them are still pretty wealthy.
