Thats really interesting.
The cities buttons really make the map for me though, Detroit is all red but places like Washington, Seatle and Atlanta are almost all black.
The other interesting thing i noticed was people from LA tend to move out and go everywhere in the country but the NE, and all inward migration of people to LA comes from the NE.

I think Atlanta is the only one that comes close to that claim amongst the cities you mention.

Central Detroit? Not really, there's not even a full scale supermarket there. The suburbs are still surviving though, some of them are still pretty wealthy.
