Nothing like reinforcing a stereotype.

Also, I was too busy laughing at that dude apparently stepping on a land mine to pay attention to the announcer ... did he say some player got shot in the head?

Agreed. That one looked ridiculous. It's a shame too because he had just put together a really nice run.

That's exactly why the ref is smart not to give any cards (i.e. the first foul of the game) because most the time it's embellishment by the Italians IMO.

What is the over/under on the stretcher runs for italian players? 5.5?
I'm going to resist posting that old youtube of the Italian training camp from The Guardian out of respect for Matty but it sure is tempting I tell ya!

Ah heck, it's relevant and just too funny not to share, in case nobody has seen it before. Sorry Matty.

He should've booked De Rossi for simulation. That was about the only thing I liked that the Mexican ref did in the Germany game yesterday.

I think everyone has seen it. There is no respect in diving. It's gutless and totally unsportsmanlike. I don't care if everyone does it in soccer because i don't care about the sport.

In the NHL is a different story. Good thing it's contained to only 2-3 teams around the league.

Yeah i appreciated the ref giving those 2 yellows for clear dives that game specially one right off the bat. However, I think besides the questionable red he did a fair job.

Paraguay's defence is looking strong so far. Could be tough to break.

Omg, what a waste of a chance. You have to make Buffon make a save.

The NHL needs to reign it in though because it's definitely spreading. Even Iggy sometimes goes down easier than he should. They need a review team and game suspensions for diving imo.

They need to review dives in between periods and start suspending right after the game.

These teams are not in the same class - I am hoping for a goal by Italy to break Paraguay out of their shell and liven up the game.

Very good defense from Paraguay so far. They are looking impressive defensive wise. I have learned, over many years, to never count out the Italians however.

That was a shocking free kick. The Paraguay player appeared to not be fouled and handball to boot.

One chance, one goal!
