Kendry Morales broke his leg celebrating his game winning grand slam at home plate

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=300529103

I'm sorry but I think that's hilarious and hopefully will put an end to these ridiculous celebrations where players get dogpiled.

Winning run in a playoff game or in late September I can understand.
But guys jumping on each other in a game in May in a 162 game season on a team under .500 is just stupid.

maybe teams should just stop with any celebration... It's not like they haven't hit a grand slam to win a game before.. C'mon act like you've been there before.

I dont know whats more amazing, docs no hitter or the fact that they actually needed it to win the game. What is wrong with the Philly bats?

I know! it's so weird! Teams seems to peak and slump together.
I never ever would have thought this weekend the Mariners would score 15+ runs and the Phillies would score 3.

Question about A-Rod. Yes I realize he's probably been discussed to death but I'm new to watching baseball regularly.

On TSN's top 10 unsportsmanlike plays he was running by the Jays shortstop about to catch a pop fly when he went 'Hah!' and distracted the player causing him to not catch the ball. He later went on to defend himself saying that "all I said was hah! that's it."

Is he always such a jerk? (EDIT: d-bag is censored? sorry didn't know that!!)

^A-Rod probably gets more slack than he should because of his contract, but at the same time, he makes piehole "mistakes" all the time and than pleads ingnorance. There are only so many times you can do it and it becomes a trend where you know he does stuff to piss others off on purpose. He's not a good liar either.

anyone else notice how incredibly unfair the al east is compared to the rest of the league this year? 4 out of the 5 teams in the al east would be winning or contending to win every other division in baseball.

Missed disucssing it as I was away, but I'll be buying a Phils jersey with Halladay on the back. Great accomplishment for the best in the business. All class, just a true professional. Sometimes the good guys do finish first.

Best pitcher in baseball? Child please. The best pitcher from the last two years is Tim Lincecum. His two Cy Youngs back that up. He was off to a third this year in his first 8 starts, but his last three have not been great. He is having some mechancics issues and command problems.

The best pitcher in baseball is easily Ubaldo Jiminez. His 10-1 record in 11 starts with a 0.78 ERA puts him head and shoulders above anyone right now. Jimenz's only loss came against the Dodgers when he gave up one run in seven innings and his team was shut out.

Halladay is a great pitcher, but not the best.

1. Did you just use child please? Who are you, Chad Johnson?

2. Roy Halladay is easily the best pitcher in baseball, and he has almost 10 years of stats to back that up. This isn't taking anything away from Tim Lincecum, who is the next great pitcher in the NL.

let them do it for 10 years, then we'll talk. Halladay is the best.

This argument doesn't deserve my time of day but not only has Doc been the best arm in baseball for a long time, but spent almost all of his time in the toughest division in baseball. If he could've spent the last 10 years against NL West batters......oh man

You didn't say best pitcher over the last ten years, best active pitcher using the career stats or anything else. You said best pitcher in baseball, which means right now. The best pitcher in MLB is Ubaldo Jiminez. His stats right now look like they are out of a video game. I don't like the guy at all, but what he is doing is amazing.

Currently Halladay is tied with 7 for 4th in wins, 3rd in ERA, tied for 12th (with Jiminez) in Ks, and leads the league in complete games, shutouts and innings pitched. He's got a Cy Young from 2003 when he was lights out.

Of all the active pitchers, the one who has had the best total career is Mariano Rivera in my opinion. He has over 500 saves, had 6 of 7 years in a row with an ERA under 2, and a career opponent's avg. of .211. He's been the most dominating closer for most of his years and may be the best closer of all time. He's won the reliever of the year award 6 times and has 5 World Series rings, with 1 World Series MVP.

If we were using the last ten or so years, there is also a great case for Andy Pettite (7-1 this year), Pedro Martinez (1993-2005 was phenomenal and is 5-1 this year), Roger Clemens (1997,1998 and 2001 were sick and yes I know he is retired). I'm not saying Doc is not a tremendous pitcher, and I would definitely want him on my team, but it's far fetched to say he is the absolute best pitcher in the game. Besides the 2003 season when he was easily the best, he hasn't been the best pitcher in any year, never mind the last ten combined.

flames1987, I didn't know your time was so valuable that you could search message boards, comment on them, but only enough to let us know it wasn't worth your comment. Great work.

Sylvanfan, I don't think Ochocinco had used Child Please yet. I hadn't heard it until he used it, but I found it funny so I copied it.

I think the Giants have the best rotation in baseball, and it could get even better with Bumgarner hopefully replacing Wellemeyer soon. They are comparable to the Braves' rotations in the early 90s, but unfortunately the position players also hit like the Braves pitchers.

wow, runner ruled safe at 1st base on an infield hit..and it was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. What a way to ruin what was about to be baseball history.
