The patch for the 360 won't come out until a few weeks, I should try doing this to see if it works on the xbox.

Damn, the sniper rifles were nerfed and the changes make little sense.
They are basically all the same now and it's now nearly impossible to get 1 shot kills in normal with even the M95. I usually play hardcore so this isn't that much of a problem but range kills are much less frequent now.
They all start at 100 and drop to 50 damage at 36 meters. What's the point if they are all the same? The Gol used to do 100 to 70. The M95 used to do 100 to 79 (which is what gave it the greater damage and usefulness). Now they all do the same damage but have major drawbacks so why not just use the SV98 which now is the best rifle due to doing the same damage as Gol and M95 but having less reload time and double the magazine size?
This is one aspect of the game that needed no tweaking and yet they did it.

joystick makes all the difference in the world. i picked up the game on Saturday and i was able to get comfortable with the helicopters quite quickly. i've also been a good pilot in these games since the BF1942 days so that helps also
i wish EA would release another WWII battlefield game though (a full one, not that 1943 quickie), i really miss dogfighting in those awesome oldschool planes. divebombing was another skill that took awhile to master and felt so rewarding when you did, firing a missile from a helicopter just doesn't have the same gratification
in fact why can't EA do something new with the WWII genre that no one has, and make an alternate history game? let us fight Nazi's in Washington, or a massive groundwar in Japan if the atom bomb was never invented. i absolutely loved that World in Conflict game because it wasn't tied down by reality, and fighting the Russians in Seattle was a blast. EA took a step in this direction years ago with the Secret Weapons expansion for BF1942, i hope they go even further

Ah finally they reduce damage with the M60. That coupled with the scope makes it basically unbeatable.

I'm pleased they've made the M60 less accurate. My biggest complaint was how accurate that stupid MG was. Medic class is way over played, I havent even unlocked the defib in my game because I despise that class so much. Too many guys just crouched and held the fire button hoping the spray and pray would get them kills. Im disappointed they reduced the damage of the sniper rifles, I hope the distance HS will still be fatal. I wish I could sample the changes, I'm in San Deigo until saturday and this new patch has me jonesin to play.

it is. i got a marksmen score for hitting a long distance headshot with whatever the first sniper rifle is and the guy went down. i honestly don't notice a difference at all with the sniper rifles, one shot on hardcore to the torso or two shots on regular mode will drop anyone with the starter rifle

Yes on hardcore, the changes aren't really noticible at all. The changes are mostly seen on normal. You can still 1-shot shotgun slug a guy across the map.
I love it.

I would love to see a battlefield at sea game where you have a fleet that you can populate with other players. Aircraft carriers, cruisers, destroyers and subs.
Imagine being in command of a WWII era sub sneaking up on a carrier or a convoy.
I'd also love to see the Ancient Art of War at sea redone with the battlefield engine. Boarding ships, manning the cannons, having to get the sails up.
Hanging crew members.

Awesome, I'm glad since I usually play recon on Isla Innocentes. You can get tons of marksmen points on that map as a defender in the second base.

you didn't play BF1942? subs, carriers, battleships, you could drive them all. it sounds better in theory though since a fast paced FPS doesn't really lend itself to the slow pace of ocean warfare. i did have quite a bit of fun on the Midway map for 1942 though, the rare times when you were able to go battleship on battleship was intense

Where do you camp out? There's usually too much stuff going on in the town to really put down a solid sniper game versus the first island where everybody is trading shots between the island and the mainland.

Theres a ledge beside B just above the tin shack, you have to crouch jump to get onto it. If you crouch in the plants and stay still you can peg people on the far hill, the island, and the road into town. Its awesome and usually you can get a bunch of kills before you are discovered. At that point I hide behind a corragated steel wall behind B and shoot through one of the openings.

I know there were carriers. and battleships. bit it was tough to get enough people to run all of the stations. But I never found the subs, or the heavy bombers.

I've played the new patch a bit. Definitely an improvement. The sniper rifle hasnt really been neutered. It still kills in 1 with a headshot. Glad they took some punch out of the M60, not so many people are playing the medic class now.

statsverse is wonky.
the other place is
http://bfbcs.com/
Also I think many have traded their m60's for the T-88 LMG.
Finally got my first server kick/banning due to questionable spawn camping on isla innocentes.(Blue building on the first island, was essentially using it's smoking wreck as cover, and apparently the metal fence doesn't provide enough cover to spawning players) and if the building is flattened, the hill top where the heavy mg is, is exposed. On hard core, so I'm pretty certain that I would have been 40mm grenaded out of that position before I started if it were normal and people had their targeting crosshairs
Also have a tendency to start using the smoke grenade if the team is comprised of snipers/wookies. (After all you can't shoot what you can't see reliably.)
