The photo cannot do justice to the crappy feel of the material. Interesting take on the Horse jersey, but it looked and felt like a practice jersey at best. The red, yellow, and white looks nice together though IMO.
Then I flipped it over:
It was at this point that the owner of that market stall started giving me a little spiel: "Very expensive shirt. Very good player. Expensive in stores. Forty dollar."
So my wife snapped these shots for a laugh and we left the shirt there. It is probably still there if you know anyone in Sydney. So I either a) walked away from a disgraceful mish-mash of leftover materials (they ran out of the letter "g" though), or b) a rare, Flames prototype of what the horse jersey might have been...

I would have bought that just for the comic relief. That's hilarious.

The Habs intorduce a very interesting policy towards counterfeit jerseys:
Quote:
This week, the Canadiens became the first team in the league to start offering fans rebates on official licensed sweaters if they come into Habs Zone and relinquish their counterfeit jerseys.
The offer is good only at Habs Zone at the Bell Centre, not from any other authorized dealer.
The club is offering a $100 rebate on authentic sweaters just like those worn by players during games, and $50 for look-alike replica sweaters that don't have the same high degree of water repellency.

So, if I wanted a real Habs jersey, it would be cheaper for me to buy a counterfeit one and use it as a coupon.
Sounds like this will just increase sales to the counterfeiters.

I suppose it does raise awareness though. I'm sure people buy them knowing they are fake and don't care. But I think some people buy them and honestly don't know the difference.

I got ripped off buying a Team Finland Kipper jersey about a year ago from eBay... only cost me $40 though, so I can't complain... but the picture looked exact (I had no idea these we're fakes)... when it came in the mail, I discovered the jersey was made out of that material that soccer pinnies are made of (with all of those little holes)... argh! I bought a size 60 to wear over my goalie equipment too, but I am afraid it would tear if I actually wore it!
Anyways... um, Kipper jersey for sale $40!!!

Some European jerseys are actually made out of that type of material. Particularly club teams.

They don't have that style on their website, but I know I've seen them in Canadian Tire before and it is an officially licensed NHL product, and not a counterfeit.

I'm surprised those ones at Canadian Tire can even be licensed. Walmart has similar stuff, too.

I came across a Jets NHL counterfeit jersey on kijiji:
""PRICE REDUCED New with tags Evander Kane signed jersey comes with a COA. This is a beautiful addition to any hockey shrine ! Please message me 403-xxx-xxxx via text or call and I will get back to you asap ! Please do not email."
http://www.kijiji.ca/v-hockey/calgar...ationFlag=true
I'm not sure who in their right mind would pay $250.00 for a signed jersey of Evander Kane. People in Winnipeg could not give away Kane jerseys, let alone sell them at $250.00. Not sure about the actual signature, but you can definitely tell that it's a Chinese ripoff, just by looking closely at the white and blue stripes, especially at the waist.
I'm curious if you should contact kijiji, or even the Police.
You can click a link to see some other "authentic signed" jerseys this person has, including a Flames jersey supposedly (not sure if jersey is counterfeit or not) signed by Jonas Hiller for $250.00:
"This Beautiful jersey is New Never worn Authentic size XL signed by the whole team. It also has a signature of Jonas Hiller which is now very rare you will not be able to get another one like this. Has a COA To all you Hockey fans this will make one hell of an addition to any hockey shrine ! Please contact me via text or call me as Im not in my E-mail much. Serious Inquiries. I am asking 250.00for this beautiful jersey OBO"
http://www.kijiji.ca/v-hockey/calgar...ationFlag=true
I also did a quick search to see if their Corey Perry authentically signed jersey was authentic, and Perry's signature looks nothing like what is on their Ducks jersey.
