Glad we can inspire. Dont worry about donating , We raised enough money to play. What you can do is subscribe and keep visiting the blog. I have gotten some interest from the Local hockey store about funding an actual website and paying a little for advertising if I c an keep the updates and content coming and the traffic of course.

Thanks for all of CP's support. We have another scrimmage this week so I hope to have more Video!

Ok well we had another scrimmage it was a balst but I am gonna post a couple pics cause I know you will like them.

First off I am getting ready to score here ( at least thats my story and Im sticking to it.) See the guy in the blue, he is on my team in this scrimmage.

He straight lays me out ... I mean hits me so hard I think my feet went over my head. He then apologizes and says he forgot he was on my team. We had to invite some people to play to give us enough for 2 teams. This dick wont be brought back. Anyway My ears havent rang like that since I took a bad hop playing shortstop and took a ball in the face. That time it provided me with a cool blackeye the day before My wife and I 's first date. This time it just gave me headache and made me sick to my stomach haha:

the aftermath:

Just bc i got some PMs saying I needed to keep my stick on the ice while skating...
Stick on the ice..

Stick on the ice!

Nick and Stick on the ice HAHAHAHAH!

More pics at the blog Please subscribe and leave some comments!... Thanks for all the support. Videos will be up when i get up and unlazy enough to take the sound out of them!

A couple shorter videos up .... please disregard the wives talking ... I think they even called one guy a wanna-be gretzky at once... Which is impressive in its own right because I dont think a one of them other than my wife ( whom is from Calgary) has ever watched hockey lol ....

thanks for the support guys... first game is a week from Sunday!

Well all but 3 of the guy started skating in Feb. We are just expecting to have fun and would like to win half our games. We actually got in a d-4 league which is above beginners. There wasnt enough beginners to make its own league.

We got beat 8-4 ......It was just a preseason game so they set 60 minutes on the clock and didnt stop it. Being my first game I got gassed halfway through. Actually our whole team did haha. Thats when the other team started scoring more goals. It was pretty close halfway through. 3-2 or so ... It was most of the guys first time against other teams players. We all learned a lot and had a blast. However I learned two things... 1. even though it says non contact league, there was a lot of non incidental contact. 2. Personally I learned that goalies do not like you standing in front of them in the offensive zone. I was not in the crease but I stood in front of the goalie trying to screen him. When the other team took the puck away he skated out and crosschecked the out of me. Not just a friendly shove but hit me so hard I have a stick mark bruise horizontally across my back. It didnt feel great .This ###### is a d-2 goalie who was filling in for this team.

All in all we had a blast and we found things we need to work on. We just want to continue to get better every time!

Well first official game was today.. We got beat 9-2 ... we played a team who had at least 6 guys who played hockey for university. I know this because they all work at the Arena. They said and I quote " they wanted to play in the lowest division so it would be easier on them" It was ridiculous. They brought like 50 fans who brought cowbells and when they scored they would go to center ice and do ridiculous celebrations. Really cool for the lowest level of hockey!

It really frustrated my team of beginners . Oh well at least we improved on a few things. A lot of work still to do ...

How's your equipment situation? If you were in a Canadian city, you could find a lot of affordable hockey equipment in used sports stores, I don't know if you guys want any used things but that's one of the main items you find here.

Sadly, this isn't uncommon..sorry that it had to happen your first game. The only plus side is by playing better teams it'll force you to get better

Actually we are all set... I just got the package ( yesterday) the guys from CP sent me .. It was perfect!! One guy was missing elbows, helmet, shins , and gloves. He was borrowing it from the rink to play . I got to pretty much outfit him with the stuff you guys sent! I thought he was going to cry he was so happy he had stuff to call his own!! I even bought him a new bag to put it in. He asked what he owed you guys , I told him just to cheer for the Flames next year
SO THanks for everyone who chipped in and A Big Thanks to Ken For sending it to me!!!

Yeah it was a bummer ! The main thing is skating and taking passes. We still arent strong on the skates . We are getting better. The passing thing is just an experience thing I guess. We do look tons better than when we started so we are going in the right direction. I just hope the guys dont get too discouraged.

They're lucky they didn't play against the Puckers. We would have been brawling the first time they went to centre ice to do a dumb celebration.

remember 14/16 guys including me just started skating in February so they arent really ready to brawl until we get off the ice... However I will say I just got to coach last week as my sciatica acted up sat night and sunday. I went in 2 hrs prior to the game to try to stretch and it didnt work ...

I saw my guys get embarrased and not even one of them chirp at the other team. I will def have the chirps ready going into this game. I dont have good brakes so I hope their goalie has his head on a swivel when we make it to the offensive zone... the best part however is the 300lb lady they have that rings her cowbell when they score HAHA!!!

Well we played them again and it was bad... 12-0 ... Idiots were cherry picking at the blue line and trying breakaways in the 3rd when it was 7 -0 ... I still dont know why we had to play them twice in a row.. OH well.. we did get more shots and seemed to gain the offensive zone more so at least we are going in the right direction...

Just played our 3rd game of the year. We played against the 2nd best team in the league. We lost butttttttttttttttttt we only lost 4-3 !! We played and looked a lot better . I am pretty excited about this game. Added bonus... I got my first point , with an assist on our first goal!!!
