Well we can run the fundraiser as long as we want to , however we are going to cut it off early/mid march . That is an estimate of the latest we can go and be insured that we will get the funds back to pay the league!

Hey Here is proof that I sent in the CP donation from OBCT and JFK ' subscription purchase.. I was waiting because 2 other people were going to pay and I was just gonna send in 20 bucks at once... I waited a few days and so i decided to donate for these two now instead of waiting for the other 2..... It might have had something to do with 7uongo PM'ing me saying I was a scamming people and conning them for money on here. I know people prob dont think that but I hope the really dont.

Season starts 2nd Sunday in April....Our First Inter Squad Scrimmage is tonight... First live action most of the team has ever seen so it should be interesting. My wife will be video taping. If any hilarity ensues I will post the vid here!!
Thanks again for all your support!!!! Alot of the guys and family members want MoonDawg T-shirts... Hopefully we can get them cheap enough that I can send all the people who have helped out a T-shirt.

Yeah the guys are taking to the sport and I see the excitement for them to play growing each time we get on the ice. I get texts saying when can we get private ice again .... Hope you noticed the nice big Canadian flag displayed at the rink. We have 2 rinks owned by the same person but managed by different people. The North one is managed by a canadian and its also where the University of Central Oklahoma plays. The South one ( where we played at) is managed by an American whose son played for the US world jr team this year. During the Gold medal game the bet was whoever lost had to sing the Gold medal teams national anthem for the Home/home UCO vs OU series. It was flippin Hilarious!

Sounds like a great league to play some beginners hockey although the horizontal striped guy looked pretty good.
Yes #5 .... We call him Topher! I dont know why... Him and his other redwing buddy are quite the beginners but rabid Wings fans. Striped guy is Evan. He played through High school. We found out they combined beginners league with the lowest other division. I picked up a couple of guys who knew what they were doing so they could help coach us and give us feedback on what we needed to do.

blog was updated today with a meet the moondawgs post... 1st 4 guys .. I figured since a lot of you helped donate youd like to keep up with the team.
I think also we are gonna develop our own website.. I asked another hockey forum/store about them advertising on the team blog since they have been supportive and gave us some good deals. They said they would possibly pay for ad space if we got out own site and didnt use blogspot. I am currently searching the best way to do this since I dont know how to make websites.... I am currently looking at Godaddy to host and build the site .... anyone else have any suggestions?

Talked to the guy who runs the leagues today , and instead asking him to make me a deal . I took cash in and said this is how much I have. You can take it and let us play in the league , and we will prob continue to play in the next seasons or we dont play. He went ahead and took the cash! SO now we are actually in the league , well after everyone registers with USAHOCKEY for insurance reasons. The Seasons starts Aprill 11th so 2 weeks from Sunday is our first game.
If you have seen the videos on the blog you will see we still need a lot of work. However we are all very very excited. I have been skating 3- 4 times a week using stick and puck sessions and even open skates to work on certain things. Today I mastered Hockey stopping at slow speeds. I was so excited I felt like a little kid!
Thanks for everyone's help! Stay tuned to the blog for further updates. We have another Scrimmage this friday . ( its my 3 yr anniversary so wife isnt the happiest but she is the Canadian so she understands..... I mean geesh it is Hockey for crying out loud!)

Geez, I wish you could do that in Canada. I think I'll go down the league office tomorrow with a wad of cash and say "This is what I have, you can either let us play or we'll leave". I'd imagine the answer would start with "get" and end with "out", with a couple other words in the middle.
Great stuff. Its been a while since I've played on ice but it really makes me want get back into it. I'd donate but I'm on a pretty tight student budget. Keep the updates coming though. Its really great seeing some people who are new to the game enjoying themselves. Its kinda inspiring as well, since it just shows its never to late to try something new. Go Moondawgs!
