You still haven't clarified your whole "any amount is too much" posistion.

Are you in favor of new drinking and driving laws that have zero tolerance?

Did you not suggest multiple times that having 1-3 drinks is the same as being drunk? That there is no such thing as having consumed alcohol and still be sober? That anyone who has even a single beverage and then drives is endangering themselves and others?

Oops, I'm making 2 assumptions.

1. You like girls
2. You're not a virgin

And FYI, the CPS often do sit outside restaurants and bars, or set up check stops in the area.

Are you capable of defending any of your positions? Or do you just rely on insulting other members?

Dude, that makes no sense. In fact, you're whole argument has more holes in it than the Flames defense this year. You seem to believe that you can just ignore facts and questions posed to you...a discussion doesn't work like that. Also, just because you can stand on your soap box and yell louder than anyone else doesn't mean you're correct. In fact, you're just making yourself look like a buffoon. Maybe try answering a couple questions that have been put forth instead of just name-calling.

But it isn't funny. We're trying to discuss the validity of drinking and driving laws and he's implying I'm gay (not that there is anything wrong with that).

I'm not a great poster and I've gotten my fair share of infractions but he's not contributing at all.

I know, I know. Just ignore him and he'll go away. But I can't, so I'm complaining to try and have him be forced to shut it.

Haha, you know you suck at being funny when a mod has to enter the thread and let everyone know that you were trying to be funny.

He's not saying you're gay, he's saying you fail at getting laid.

I'll will answer your question once you answer mine.

Does alcohol impair judgment?

Do you believe you are immune to the effects of impaired judgment?

If the OP has learned anything from this thread, is that no matter how much he drinks, drives, and/or break the laws, there will always be somebody willing to come up with an excuse for him.

How is it dangerous to NOT drink and drive? All wooohooo is saying is to play it safe.

Obviously if someone took notice of your driving, there was a reason for it. Seems a lot of people are missing this point.

Considering that nobody has come up with an excuse in this thread not sure how he would learn that.

What he will learn is that no matter how little people know about a situation they will still feel free to pass judgement and tell you how great they are and how terrible a person you are.

Seriously, how do you defend this?

The OP knew and agreed to abide by the terms of his GDL. He ignored them and drank one or more alcoholic beverages. A concerned citizen (an EMS employee no less) was concerned enough about the OP's driving that he reported it to CPS.

Hey, but that's okay. It's not like he did anything wrong.

You don't see any issue with this?

Well, he did admit that he drank more than the law allows him/her to drink and then drive a car.

I can't say that I have never done that; but that does not make it right. People told me before how stupid I was to drink and drive, and now people are telling the OP.

What am I defending?

I said that there is not enough information for people to be jumping in and talking about what a threat he was on the road and what a stupid decision it was.

The GDL is overly strict and stupid so no I don't care if the guy had a beer and broke the rules, just like I don't care when people speed.

Now if information comes out that he had a lot to drink then yes I would say it was an incredibly stupid decision but right now that information is not available.

he is asking how moon can defend him when in fact moon just posted stating the opposite, no one is defending the OP, but the discussion has moved past the OP to a general drinking and driving topic not taking GDL into consideration at all. longsuffering just seems to make these statements against people who never said otherwise in the first place.

Yes, alcohol impairs judgment. No I am not immune. Those were some pretty stupid questions. I'm sure you'll try and twist them in some absurd and nonsensical way.

You are being intentionally obtuse and asking loaded questions though.

Do you really think I'm drunk when I have a single beer? Two beers? Three? Four? Five?

At what point am I drunk? What if I eat a meal when I have these 1-5 beers?

Do you believe that ANY amount of alcohol is too much? Do you really believe that anyone who has had any amount of alcohol has impaired judgment? Do you really think cops give DUIs for people who have had a single beer?

Do you really believe I'll kill someone if I drive after having 1 or 2 beers?

Do you honestly think there is no difference between these two statements:

"Alcohol has effects on a human being. Whether they have one drop or a whole keg doesn't matter, they are effected, even if only at the most miniscule of measurable levels."

"The consumption of alcohol, if in great enough quantities, can impair a persons driving"

I honestly don't think you know the difference.

It is like saying money changes people and then saying that a guy who wins a $2 lottery and a guy who wins a $20m lottery will both have their lives forever altered.

It just isn't the case. On some level, yes, they both won the lottery. But no they won't forever have their lives totally altered.

Your comparison with booze is the same.

One drop is not the same as amount x that impairs my driving. They just aren't the same. They never will be the same.
