I'm finding the acting is a bit weak this year, Chloe is awful, man she annoys me. Jack in his low whisper voice looking the other way all the time. I love 24 but i think it is reaching the end. CTU destroyed, a mole on the inside, I guess there's only so many stories they can use.

The one guy trying to find Kevin, the Parole Officer was beyond annoying. Some of the worst acting I have ever seen. Hastings has been hit and miss, sometimes he is ok, and sometimes he is beyond brutal.
Edit: haha, I was in the middle of watching the episode when I posted it. Good, they killed him off.
wow, and Dana is a mole.
Always a mole.

Agreed. Renee is good for ratings.

That parole officer was brutal. It really does feel like this is going to be 24's last season. Story lines are getting repeated, acting has gone down the hole and the hot girls have disappeared.

It's always something every season
CTU has been:
- invaded by a Chinese covert team
- Gassed
- EMPed
- Bombed
There has been a mole every season in CTU (except last season since there was no CTU, but the FBI had their own moles)

If CTU existed, it'd be the Edmonton Oilers of government operations.

Gotta admit though, Freddie Prinze Jr has been a highlight this year. Even though his storyline with Dana has been brutal.

Freddie Prinze Jr has been the only highlight this season, I really enjoy him. Last season was way better, and there were like 7 twists an episode.

Officially confirmed that Fox will not pick up season 9...
http://www.slashfilm.com/2010/03/26/...ally-canceled/
The article says its also unlikely that another network will pick the series up

Season 8 of 24 may not be, as some say, as good as previous seasons, but it's still a heck of a lot better than almost anything else on TV these days (like that reality crap) so I keep enjoying every minute.

I guess Jack's not coming back this time...
I kind of wish they went away from the whole stop a nuclear bomb in the city with a mole. They should have done something completely different like destroying North Korea or something. It's getting a little over done.

I liked when they brought the Chinese into the mix and they kidnapped Jack. That was awesome!
I need to re-watch my 24 dvd's, I have seasons 1-5.

So if there's no season 9, does Jack finally die? He's cheated death too many times. They should end the season with shock and awe.

On the preview for next week's (2h) show, they announce the fact that after 8 seasons, its the start of the countdown on the last 10 hours of 24, ever.
An interesting character popping back next week...I am sure there will be a few more coming out of nowhere as they go out with a bang.
Talk of a movie or series of movies to somewhat continue the series in some form, but nothing confirmed, and you'd think that the last shows on TV are likely it...format doesn't carry over too well to a 2h movie.

I've always wonderered why producers thought people were so hot for a 24 movie. I've even read a quote where they say the movie would be a "2h representation of a day".
So, you mean, the same as every other action movie? I guess they're counting on people liking the characters so much that they will go to the theater to see them.

I had to laugh last night when the general was like "don't worry these guys are a highly trained elite squad, Bauer doesn't stand a chance." Boom headshot.....
I honestly think Jack could take out a M1A1 Abrams with a stick of gum, an elastic band and two teaspoons of powdered lemonade.
