Baseball fans should also be banned. That way no one feels left out.

I've thought about it, and all Flames fans should be banned too. Just so no one feels left out. Wait...crud.

It's a shame that it is so difficult to have any kind of reasonable debate here about Flames rivals.
For example, any Canuck thread from 4 months ago and earlier was laced with 10 pages of one line pony jokes, and 7uongo rehashes. That is exactly the type of behaviour that encourages Vancouver fans to get their licks in when they get the chance, and it doesn't advance the quality of hockey talk on the boards in the slightest.
The problem is obviously a little bigger then simply trolling from opposing teams' fans.

Is it helping? No, but thats why I don't to go a Canucks board because it would be filled with Goonies jokes about the Sutters.

Just mod a Canucks fan imo.
That way they can do the dirty work of banning all the Canuck trolls right when they show up, and will stop a Flames fan from baiting and trolling a Canucks fan before they even start. Win/Win.

- Then Canucks fans respond, and we get reported posts due to trolling.
I see all sorts of other things too. Recently in an OOT thread there was a post reported as trolling; the post was something like "Great save Luongo!" That is not trolling; it's a Canucks fan with an on-topic post.
It may be tougher to hear positive comments from Canucks fans right now; them in a winning battle for first in the NW and the Flames in a losing battle for the final playoff spot. But how did the Canucks get there? By winning more games than us.
If you see a legitimate trolling post (you guys all suck, too bad you don't have a good enough goalie/ traded half your team, etc) then you should do one of two things:
- Report it, then ignore it
- Ignore it
If you really want to get under a Troll's skin, the worst thing you can do to him is ignore his post. He will continue on, and after a while when nobody responds he head over to Oilfans.com to see if he can bait anybody there.

I respect your opinion Ken, but it boils down to this for me:
Our house, our rules.
Canuck fans who want to post here do have to abide by a different set of rules than Flames fans. In a lot of ways they need to be 'above' the Flames fans around them, because they're in hostile territory.
When a Nuck fan takes a blatantly inflammatory position (Steve Moore deserved it) and can't give a reason which was critically thought out, they need to be banned. Simple as that. Otherwise it just goes towards fueling hatred towards the other team.
I think a guy like Landshark does it right - there isn't a ton of hatred towards the sharks, but he generally posts in a manner which isn't inflammatory or spite filled. He gets favorable responses. Quality post count goes up, everyone is happy.

Not sure if you are being serious or not but there may be something to that. I have mixed feelings about it - but it is something worth giving some noodle time to.

I think why not? Canucks fans make up a large poster base here and some of us are quality posters. Might aswell give us a small voice that'd be able to help keep the peace.
