I think its a combination of being out coached and no depth.

Outside the first 2 lines Russia is not that scary. TSN also mentioned how the KHLers looked sluggish and they were right.

Russian coaches also made some weird choices. No real attempt at getting out of line matching even though they had last change. Nabakov should have been replaced in the 1st period.

I wonder if Nabokov will ever do anything in a game of any value.

Only way for Finland to meet Canada is if both teams advance to the gold medal match or the bronze medal match.

Are you saying that Canada winning is for your wife what an engagement ring is to Hilary Duff?

Ya I meant Gold medal games....I'm getting ahead of myself. I'm going for the Gold medal game so I hope that is the match up.

The Russian KHL D are pylons. Team Canada was going to the outside on them with ease.

I suppose Canada played like the monster team they are on paper. Simple as that.
I don't think Bryzgalov would have stopped any of the first 3 goals, personally.

I've been reading the tsn.ca/cbc.ca reader comments the past few days, and I wonder where all these chicken little naysayers are now.

"Russia is far too deep and skilled, they will roll over Canada"
"This game is over before it even began, 5-1 Russia"
"Canada won't be able to contain Ovie and Malkin"
"If I want to watch real hockey I'll watch the women's team"
etc etc

Canada is the best team on paper and now they have shown that they can be the best team on the ice as well.

The KHL line was good in the first game and okay in the second, but no very effective at all against the Czechs and Canadians.

The KHL defensemen were definitely terrible tonight and scared to get the puck after the first 10 minutes.

Stunning how bad the Russian's played. Poor goaltending, absolutely awful defensive coverage, and the forwards looked intimidated. Ovechkin and Co. had nothing on the Oilers tonight they were that bad. It just seemed like Canada wanted it more from the opening faceoff.

Line didn't score but Iggy was a man possessed tonight as per usual this tourney. Great defensively and hard on the body every shift.

Haha another positive from this game...

Mike Milbury used the word "Eurotrash" on NBC in describing Semin. Sounds like he might be in trouble

Canada hockey for dummies,

Play like Eurotrash...lose.
Play like Bobby Clark v Karlimov and hit everything in site..win.

Other than some lazy play in the second half of the 2nd period it was an almost perfect game. Really showed how weak the russians are on defence.

Also fantastic that KHL players showed thier non value vs NHL players.

His "line" didn't score, but at the end of one of his shifts, his board play in front of the bench got him an assist on the Weber goal.
