Yeah, it wouldn't have made a difference for the end result, but it would have been a better game if Nabokov had given the Russians some goaltending.

I suppose Canada played like the monster team they are on paper. Simple as that.

Toews, Iginla and Morrow are the spark plug for this team. They made their lines better. Iggy goes into the fisrt line with Crosby-Staal and or Crosby-Nash and the line started clicking. Toews been playing awesome in the Olympics no matter who he plays with, Morrow moved to Getzlaf-Perry's line and those two started playing well. It's actually fitting because those 3 started playing in the 4th/energy line.

Man, talk about showing the Russians that this is Canadian teams' turf. The team is playing better and hitting well. They are definitely taking the home team advantage.Bring on the Swedes or Slovaks!

I am not sure it would have been that different.

It wasn't like Nabokov let in bad goals, he just wasn't able to come up with the big save for them.

Alright, who's starting the "Babcock is the best international coach in Canada's history" thread?

That's how this forum works, right?

I'm shocked how awful Russia was - particularly in their own zone. The number of giveaways was stunning. Full credit to our boys for cashing in - but what the hell happened to the Ruskies?

I LOVE THIS TEAM! Getzlaf and Perry both had amazing games. They created a lot of chances and made beauty plays to get tap in goals. I thought Brenden Morrow was awesome tonight as well. Did good defensively and cycled the puck and scored. On defense Shea Weber and Drew Doughty again were the best defenseman for Canada. Shea Weber is an absolute stud. Luongo made some nice saves as well. Absolute domination. If we play like that then nobody can beat us.

PS.........Didn't expect that onslaught so early. I thought we would win but didn't expect 6-1 early in the 2nd. Nabby let in a couple softies.

Great job Canada!

So there is a chance of Kipruland vs Iginada?

I've decided to go over to Vancouver for the game so hopefully that's the match up so I can cheer either way!!

One of the biggest problems with Team Russia is political, they insisted on using KHL players to promote the league, and the KHL players were frankly terrible in this tournament.

Russia's defense was a sore spot, I thought that their forwards would make up for that, but they were dominated by Canada's defense.

Great effort

Wasn't the KHL line for Russia one of their best all tourney?
