Name me the bands that Nickelback sound like.
I'd say it's reverse, that they sound like Nickelback. So that makes Nickelback the original. Take or leave it, but they are the defining pop-rock band of the the past decade.
You must be new to the party: Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Seven Mary Three, Bush, Soundgarden, Metallica, ACDC, foo fighters, creed. Pretty much every grunge/hard rock band in the 90's with a #1 hit.

I sometimes think Kurt killed himself because he knew bands would take his music and turn it into a bland corporate mechanism (like nickelback). Meaning Kroeger killed Kurt from the future, which adds another item to their list of impressive, yet shameful accomplishments.

Ahh, yes, facebook. Where someone comes up with a funny idea for a group, and eight million immitators soon follow, all snickering at their originality.

Can't say I agree, I don't think Nickelback sounds like any of them. If they did, I might actually like them. EDIT: except Creed. They're crap, and they sound like Nickelback.

Except that Nickleback doesn't sound like any of those bands, except maybe Creed, but Creed doesn't really belong with those other bands you named.

I'm not really a fan of Nickleback but there is a couple songs I don't mind hearing once in a while. I'm happy for their success mostly because they are from Alberta. I went to see them live once and I didn't think they were that great, I just thought they lacked stage presence, ended up leaving early too.

Creed is back together again apparently, some of those guys were in Alterbridge which was a pretty good band.

I think Foo Fighters are popular because of Grohl, he's pretty talented and could play anywhere.

I like Stone Temple Pilots but couldn't see how some say they ripped off Alice in Chains, that's just me.

I got a Black Sabbath 5 disc set a while ago, it's all with Ronnie James Dio. Been listening to that lately and it's pretty heavy and badass.

I honestly believe the pickle's music is better than Nickelback's. Who is to say it isn't? Such snobbery on this board.

How long until someone pits the Nickleback pickle against Stephen Harper's onion ring?

Personally, I think FF are , and I am not the only one who thinks that. I was a huge Nirvana fan from the moment I first heard Nevermind. I could never listen to more than one or two of the Foo Fighter songs without turning them off. I sincerely hope it is not Nirvana that you are referring to as dull and lifeless.
I would never call Nirvana dull and lifeless, I promise you that. I have never really been a fan of Nirvana (not really sure why), but I have an incredible amount of respect for their authentic musicianship and the way they came to change/represent music within their generation. Frankly, I always hated the tag 'Grunge'.....felt it was a pejorative term. Although it sounds nothing like Elvis or The Beatles, it's still rock and roll.

See, there is the problem, you are comparing Nickleback to the wrong bands. So stop comparing them to those bands and then you can sit back and STFU about it. Thanks.

Ha, dude you don't want to get into a pissing match with the NIN online community. They have a massive and militant online following.

Trust me if there was a competition on facebook or anywhere else to out friend the pickle, the NIN community would be all over it.

There is too much music nowadays that all sounds the same and these people do last long because they keep repeating the same sound that everyone else does. If i turn on vibe i couldn't tell the difference between most of the music. bands like The Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Oasis I think can be considered some of the best bands ever. Maybe not top 10 as was mentioned but probably top 50 which says something considering how many bands/artists have come and gone.
Wait...What? Really?? Maybe in the top 50 annoying bands.

Good call. A buddy and me saw them when they were here not long ago and they were really good. I would've enjoyed the show more without the 5'2" fat kid on is 18th birthday trying to make out with girls way out of his league and falling down drunk standing right in front of me. If he was taller and I was less relaxed from the assistance of banned substances he may not exist today

like I said, everyone has different tastes. You can't deny the talent of bands like that even if you dont like them. For instance I can't stand the sound of anything Lady Gaga has done, but that's not to say the girl can't sing, because she definitely has pipes

Honest question - perhaps you are relatively young. Maybe you listen to CJAY 92. To say Foo Fighters (a band I like) is one of the top ten bands of all time is objectively false.

While I uderstand what you are saying and somewhat agree that Coldplay and Oasis have talent, I have to respectfully disagree that they are in the catagory of best bands of all time.
