Musically, I think Foo Fighters are awesome.
I like Billy Talent but OLP is terrible.

I don't enjoy Foo Fighters, either, which is weird because I was super into grunge in the '90s and I still listen to Nirvana. I really like half a dozen FF songs and I can't stand the rest.

Nickelback is awful as well, but that goes without saying.

Foo Fighters are (imo) one of the top ten rock bands of all time. While you can't compare The Foo directly to The Beatles or The Rolling Stones, they share very important things in common. On the top of that list, they replaced a crappy, dull and lifeless music scene with new and incredible sounds.

Back to the orginal topic, Nickleback is fine as an entertainment group and I don't mind admitting that I listen to them from time to time. That said, they're true musicians the same way that Sara Palin in Presidential material.

Nickelback's bank account > pickles bank account

pretty much sums it up.

Agreed, along with a number of other bands. This proves that a HUGE percentage of Canadian acts that flat out suck and require taxpayer-funded help just to be a 'starving Canadian artist'. Does anyone really think Shania, Rush, Celine Dion, The Guess Who (etc) needed to be artificially propped up and fed to the masses to succeed?

Seriously? I know people are entitled to different tastes, but top 10 of all time? There have been a lot of great music artists over the last 60 or so years..

Personally, I think FF are , and I am not the only one who thinks that. I was a huge Nirvana fan from the moment I first heard Nevermind. I could never listen to more than one or two of the Foo Fighter songs without turning them off. I sincerely hope it is not Nirvana that you are referring to as dull and lifeless.

I understand that everyone has different music tastes but you cant argue with the longevity of the Foo Fighters. To me that something that defines musicians. You need to be able to either invent your own type of music or recreate yourself enough to stay relevant but not so much that you lose what made you popular in the first place. There is too much music nowadays that all sounds the same and these people do last long because they keep repeating the same sound that everyone else does. If i turn on vibe i couldn't tell the difference between most of the music. bands like The Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Oasis I think can be considered some of the best bands ever. Maybe not top 10 as was mentioned but probably top 50 which says something considering how many bands/artists have come and gone.

I have no "hate" for the Foo, but can't understand why people like them so much. To me, they'd have a worthy greatest hits, but are fairly mediocre for the most part.

Umm, I'm not sure if a facebook group about pickles proves anything. Nor did anyone claim that. It is just funny. You are taking this whole thing WAY too seriously if you think people are walking around proclaiming Nickleback a terrible band because a pickle has more followers.

I like the Foo Fighters - good reliable band. But Top Ten all-time? They are not very ground-breaking. They sound pretty much like a 70s rock band to me. I can think of 20 bands off the top of my head that begin with the letter "P", that are more innovative/influential.

If longevity is the standard there are many bands who have been around for much longer. Not to mention there are a lot of bands who have been around for a long time who just suck.

Different strokes for different folks, but my problem with the Foo Fighters is that they sound bland and just like any other rock band. What about the Foo Fighters sound separates them from otherpost grundge bands of that era like the Goo Goo Dolls.

and as for Oasis.... they had one solid album, but one of the best of all time? I will give you the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but that IMO is a different situation all together.

Foo Fighters huh? They're ok, but I just don't like Grohl. I remember watching them at Edgefest way back in the day when they came to Calgary and they were on before Green Day. You can tell the guy was pissed that they were on before Green Day and I kept thinking what a tool he was.

Name me the bands that Nickelback sound like. I'd say it's reverse, that they sound like Nickelback. So that makes Nickelback the original. Take or leave it, but they are the defining pop-rock band of the the past decade.
Were they the original? Are you sure they didn't just rip off Creed? and didn't Creed just rip off actual rock bands like Pearl Jam?

So basically, Nickelback is a copy of a copy, which totally explains how plain it is.
