Bosh went into beast mode.
They just cannot let this guy go.

today looked like a day that it was fun to play for each of the Raptors (who got into the game).
That has to play into Bosh's decision making. Toronto can offer him more money than any other team (and they will), he is showing chemistry offensively with Turk and Bargniani. The team looks like it is having fun. The games are fun to play..... that all weighs into Toronto's favour.
During the All Star break, he should tell Lebron and Wade how much fun he is having in Toronto.....

At this point all they have to do is go 17-14 the rest of the way to hit 45 wins.
I'm feeling good!

No kidding, they have gone on quite the run since that beating they took from Atlanta. 21-10 in their last 31 games, and the way Boston is playing, who knows who will win that division.
Props to you for calling it and to the Raptors for exceeding my expectations, I'll be quick with the donation when they win their 45th.

Yeah, the division title doesn't look out of the question, and it's also great that they're starting to put some distance between them and Charlotte/Chicago/Miami. Could the Raptors, with home-court advantage, knock off an old and tired Boston team? I'm remembering how tired Boston looked in the playoffs last year, but they've looked so good in every game against the Raps this year, even when missing starters. I can't decide if I like that matchup or not.

I'm still not convinced about this team in the post-season, but I was wrong about them. Still don't love Hedo but he looked great against Sac. Bosh is such a beast.

I think March could be a real tough month for the Raptors though. They will still need to work to get to 45
Not counting the chickens yet, but it certainly is in the realm of possible.

I tell myself everyday if the Raptors can beat the Lakers, they should be able to go far in the playoffs. I think if they are seeded #5 like right now, they should have no problem.

So it looks like Evans will play a few minutes against the 76ers tomorrow. Welcome, Reggie!

Raptors win 8th in a row at home. Bosh once again leading the way. I'll be the first to admit I'm a band wagon jumping Raptor fan, but I am most certainly starting to take more interest in this team. I'm also happy to see Triano having success in the NBA.
Go Raptors.

And the Celts lose tonight, so Toronto's just four back for the division, and picking up a couple more games on Boston by the end of the month isn't out of the question.
Did anyone else's feed screw up during Evans' debut? I saw him standing up to go out on the court, then there was a TV time out, and the screen freezes during the Turkoglu pizza/sprite commercial, and I'm stuck looking at a frozen Hedo for about five minutes. By the time it cuts back to the action, Evans is back on the bench.

They're a team that nobody would want to face in the playoffs that's for sure. Mismatches everywhere, along with gamebreakers like Bosh and Bargnani. Amazing how they turned it around after that ridiculous loss to the Hawks.

The Raps absolutely killed them last night. If not for the amazing comeback by Philly, that game looked like Globetrotters Vs. Highschoolers. I think in about 5 mins Calderon alloyooped about 6 to various players at one point. I knew this team was better than they were playing, and I think it's partially because Bargnani grew a pair and has started to assert himself more. I still think they're missing that true centre, but we'll see if Colangelo does anything. Evans was absolutely gassed in the few mins he played, but it'll be interesting to see over the next couple weeks if he can be back in shape. There was a rumor a week ago about Josh Howard. Not exactly the position we need, but for the Raps team he'd fit in alright. Amare would be the guy I'd want (and so would 20 other teams), but if I'm Colangelo, I have a prior relationship with Phoenix and if they're out of a playoff spot and rebuilding, I make a play for the guy.

Amare?
That would be a terrible pickup. He would be fighting Bosh for touches in the post all game long.
If this team needs anything, I think they got it with Evans coming back - a rebounder who can play some tough interior defence.
I don't think you muck with this chemistry right now. Look at it again in the summer, but right now, you leave it.

Amare is not an elite player. Not even close.
If he never had Nash on his team he'd be just another guy. No basketball IQ, not enough effort, squabbles with teammates, unrefined offensive game. He's not terrible, but I wouldn't want him in the Raps in anything other than Amir's role.

Yeah, definitely do not want Amare. If we were to get another big man, I'd want him to be an elite defender and rebounder, someone who can make up for the defensive deficiencies of both Bosh and Bargnani, and who's primary contribution on offense is simply to cause havoc under the rim and create second chances. Not sure who that guy is... Chandler comes to mind as someone who's likely to become available after this season, but I don't know if he'd be happy coming off the bench.

Chandler plays the same role as Evans.
Imo the biggest weakness in the Raps game is an athletic wing defender that can guard Joe Johnson, Lebron, Pierce or Carter. Someone like Ariza. Not sure if he's avail though.

Plays a similar role, but Chandler is a big upgrade in defensive skill, (and probably a downgrade in character, which makes me cautious about him). And Evans isn't a true center and can't get very high. But I'm thinking long-term there... offseason and beyond. Definitely there's no need to replace Evans now, and I agree, an athletic wing would be the biggest improvement on this team right now.

By the way, if anyone hasn't seen this yet, here's how you play defense the Reggie Evans way:
As long as he doesn't start getting fouls for molestation, I don't care what it takes for him to be effective.
