No thanks, that ship has sailed. Most importantly, because it would mean Hasslebeck would have a safety blanket with one of his old coaches/supporters back and its 2006 all over again.
Carroll would be out of left field, that's for sure, and given his power and responsibilities at USC, pretty good guess that he'd be both qualified, and demand to do the dual role in SEA. I certainly woldn't have a problem with that. Whenever hearing the guy speak, very positive attitude and obviously gets things done.
SEA will have a younger team for the most part, especially after this draft, and is lacking leadership at some level...Carroll brings that leadership and energy which would help guide and motivate.

My tongue was firmly planted in my cheek on that Zorn stuff. Unless there are a hidden treasure trove of football savant bingo callers in the metro Seattle area?
I thought Carroll's name has been brought up every year and every year he has said he is happy where he is. I wonder if this is a repeat of that process or if something has changed?

It would have to be.....he is already very well compensated, though itlooks like Shanahan has opened the door for REALLY big money to the right guy.
I think he would command 8 million or more a year to leave his LA gig.

This thing is moving quickly.
ESPN just interviewed a media guy in LA (didnt catch his name or affiliation) who said he has already been told that the USC powerbrokers (REALLY wealthy alumni) have contacted Oregon St's Mike Reilly about moving to USC if in fact Carroll decides to make the jump to the NFL.

Bledsoe took them to a superbowl.
But like some of the old Pats more...Sam "the bam" Cunningham, Andre Tippett, Mike Haynes, Steve Grogan (also took em to a SB).
But the names you mention have to be there for sure and Kraft at the top.

That picture of Jack Lambert sure does a good job of "capturing" him.

Quite possibly. Like you found with the Packers, a great dynasty like the Steelers has so many potential candidates that are HOFers that makes it pretty tough to narrow it down. Actually the first three are pretty easy. Although the team was a laughing stock for the majority of Art Rooney's ownership he is pretty beloved in Pittsburgh and looked upon as an icon of the Steelers. Mean Joe Greene is the greatest and most famous player on arguably the greatest defensive line in NFL history. That image of Jack Lambert speaks for itself. Bradshaw is debatable. He did alienate himself from the Steelers and the city of Pittsburgh for 20 years. I think NFL fans would recognize Bradshaw as an intricate and very recognizable figure of the 1970's Steelers. Thats a tough one in my opinion. Maybe Steelers fans would think differently.

Injuries didn't help on the O-line..but not having a team leader at QB hurt this team before, and since, the Superbowl, and becoming painfully clear that its still missing, and now cost a decent coach and nice guy, his job as a result.
I don't like this because they are putting the blame of last year soley on him, when he was just more or less assuming the duties, and the team, from Holmgren.
Plus, SEA still don't have a GM in place. Makes no sense to pick a new coach before that.
Management obviously doesn't want to get left behind with teams like BUF interviewing coaches (MIN's defensive co-ordinator, SEA's asked permission to talk to) and IMO made this snap decision because they have their eye on a guy.
The GM, especially with two top 15 draft picks upcoming should be the priority hiring, not the coach.

I laughed out loud when I read that you're blaming this on Hasselbeck. This was clearly a coaching and o-line problem. Compare the amount of time Hasselbeck got before pressure and rush compared to even the league average, it was atrocious.
I'll also say you don't know much about Mora as well, he called out individual players many times after games, throwing them under the bus, one game verse Chicago he talked about cutting Mare the kicker because he didn't make every kick (hardly the fault of the kicker that game). He played Spencer at center with a broken hand, and when it fell back into his face three games later he then called him out (he actually said "I don't know what that cast is still doing on his hand" implying he was faking it), moved Unger to center, against Unger's wishes. They never had adjustments after the first half. They got embarrassed on multiple occasions and Mora's press response was "I don't know what happened".
Mora would consistently put Jones out as running back instead of Forsett, why don't you take a look at each of their stats, Forsett blew Jones away, in fact Forsett's yards per game were in the top 10 I believe in the NFL at the end of the year but Mora kept putting Jones in instead!
I've watched every Seahawks game multiple times this year and let me tell you Hasselbeck is still Hasselbeck, there was a terrible o line this year combined with terrible coaching and play calling. At the end of year interviews multiple players talked about not being on the same page as the coaching staff as well.
All in all, great move time to start clean, new coaching staff, new GM. One thing I will say about Mora though is, he's a genuine guy, a good guy, I think he would make a great college coach, but he wasn't right in Seattle unfortunately.
Also, it's not like he just came for one year and was gone, he was an assistant coach for two years prior as well.

Also what I'm hearing is that Pete Carroll is rumoured to be a coaching candidate for the 'Hawks, don't know how I feel about that, think we could do better though.
