Ill stick up for Timmies! I believe they make a fantastic cup of coffee. For a great price. Granted their food si sub par now, I will agree on that. There snacks have changed considerably over the last 5 years. But for $4 for a coffee, soup, and a bun for lunch, they will continue to keep me as a customer, morning and afternoon.

Ice capp with chocolate milk = semi-frozen, mostly liquid crack cocaine. Sorry Crusader, but I can't hate my dealer...

And the lines are awesome at the suburban locations. 50 cars in the drive through, two people in the store. In and out in 3 minutes.

Exactly. It blows my mind that people will wait 15 minutes for a coffee in the drive thru when you can park and walk right up to the till.

Back to the topic. Near my work, there is a Tim Hortons and a Second Cup accross the parking lot from each other. For years I went to the Tim Hortons and put up with the lengthy wait times and complete employee incompetance, but now I have turned the corner. I go to the Second Cup drive thru and am in and out in 2 minutes flat. None of this 15-20 minute nonsense, and far less people working there that make me visibly shake my head. Coffee is a little more expensive, but IMO, much better/stronger.

I don't think I've had a cup of Tim Horton's coffee in my life. Maybe 2 or 3 donuts ever, I can't eat sugar dough and feel good about myself.

Just walking by the locations and seeing the lineups makes me laugh, and the two University shops 30 feet away from eachother is just ridiculous. Worse than the two Starbuck's on Robson.

I miss the old donut days.

Remember Robin's Donuts? They had all these crazy donuts. Both Tim Horton's and Robin's were awesome for donuts.

I had trouble with Tim's coffee after I cut cream and sugar out of them (diet). Went with Starbucks, but theirs tasted a bit burnt sometimes.

Now 2 new local coffee places opened by where I work. Delicious. Chow Bazaar and Guiseppes.

Robin's Donuts still exists. There's only one in Calgary though. It's on Bowfort road across from C.O.P..

It depends on what's on the radio for me. If Stern has something good going there is a good chance I will do the drive thru.

Mmmm... double doubles are my weakness. No better way to start a Saturday morning, in my opinion. Also, my closest Tim's is the Mount Royal one, and as someone already stated, the service there is awesome!

I had fond memories of my dad occasionally coming home from work on a Saturday morning and bringing a dozen donuts from Tim's. They were delicious. But these days I feel kind of ill after eating pretty much anything from Tim's. And the only donuts that do anything for me from there are the Boston Cremes and the French Crullers but they seem so tiny compared to what they used to be like.

Boston creams became this dry chocolate covered, butter and sugar injected thing and my cruller turned into this mashy half cooked thing. I can't do Tims donuts at all.

Where I am, there is a Tims and a Starbucks across the street from each other. At 6AM, it takes 10 minutes to get served at the Tims, whereas there is usually no lineup if you walk in to the Starbucks. The Starbucks is about $0.50 more expensive for an XL. I used to always go to the Tims, but I've decided finally that 10 minutes of my time is worth a lot more than fifty cents. Main problem with Starbucks is that you have to add the cream yourself, and it's hard to bring oneself to put the same 1/3 cup of cream into your coffee that they do at Tim Hortons, but once you do, it doesn't taste so bad.

I agree, the donut quality is suck now. You remember how massive an apple fritter used to be? They were like a frikkin loaf of deep fried dough. I also agree with the poster who says the bread cuts the roof of their mouth. Why such sharp bread!!??

However, a sausage and egg breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel absolutely destroys any other breakfast sandwich on the market... by a landslide. I have not eaten 1 egg mcmuffin since I first sunk my teeth into one of those gooey, cheesy, processed pork gifts from the breakfast gods.

Their chili is on par with moms homeade especially with the big mushroom slices (I don't know if that is an unsult or a compliment to my moms cooking)

And the steeped tea is awesome.

I hate the traffic jams Tim Hortons' cause. The one in Strathmore on the south side of the highway is particularly horrible. At 10am on a Saturday, it took us 5 minutes just to get into the Canadian Tire parking lot because of the lineup waiting for the drive-thru
