The others however... There was a group in front of us that missed the entire OT! They were too busy skipping around, cheering and waiving wheat in the air while posing for pictures... I also liked the Riders cheers when the Riders were on offense. Not to be out done by the Stamps fans, the Riders fans always tried to out cheer us when the Stamps had their D out...I appreciate the help guys My favourite part, the real Riders fans telling their own fans to stop being idiots.

Funny you mention that. For years when i used to come to Stamps games when I was young I never understood why the Stamps fans cheered when their team was on offence and not when they were on defence. I don't notice it as much anymore but it used to be really bad.

Was at Taylor field last week and the place was a graveyard when we were over the ball and it was absolutely deafening when TO was.

The O stalled throughout the 2nd half, and he was once again trying to force things into coverage, or just plain locking onto one receiver and ignoring everything else on the field.

He threw a brutal pick, and was inaccurate all game.

The Stamps are not a good team this year, they don't have "it" I think they believe all of their press clippings from teh start of the year, and feel they don't need to work for anything this year.

You can even hear it in their interviews, the way they were writing off their ass-kicking by the Als, saying it doesn't matter, they are going to make the playoffs and turn it on then, blah blah blah.

This team is incapable of "turning it on" - if they could just turn it on, doing so against Sask with the West division in the balance would have been a good time, but once again the O blows easy plays due to lack of concentration and execution, and the D gives up HUGE yardage to a crap QB like Duran Durant.
If thats what you believe, fair enough.
Any chance you want to make a bet on Calgary making the Grey Cup or not?

There is so much stupid in this thread it hurts. Calling Chick selfish, saying it was a dirty play and that the Riders were lucky. Chick reacted with a half second. He didn't pile on and he didn't go helmet to helmet. That wasn't even the call. The rule is that you can't hit a vulnerable player who is already down. Chick probably should have just touched him and even BURRIS said the Stamps were lucky to not lose.

BURRIS. The quarterback of your own team admitted they should have lost and you guys are saying the Riders got lucky? Really? Your own quarterback said they should have lost.

Stamps were lucky to not lose. Chick didn't make a stupid play or a dirty play, he just reacted to the situation. The ref called it because he had to call it.

The CFL rule on the Burris play:
It wasn't helmet to helmet or anything else. It is called unnecessary roughness but that one label covers about 10 different scenarios. It WAS NOT roughing the passer (which covers late and dirty hits including helmet to helmet and helmet first contact)

Also, please, for the LOVE OF GOD learn the rules about pyramiding before you start posting like you know what you are talking about:

(taken directly from the official 2009 CFL rulebook)

It was clearly pyramiding. CLEARLY. No ref in the world can miss it. The reason it is almost never called is because it is rarely used and rarely successful.

Either way I thought it was a great game. Riders were about an inch away from winning on that last play to tie it. If our db gets his hand on that ball the game is over. Great throw and a great catch though. So close for the Riders though.
So much bias I don't know where to begin. The Stamps gave up an 8 pt lead with under 3 min left and they're lucky to tie the game?? Look, we all get the bad call and Rider nation is up in arms...but anytime you are up by a touchdown and converted 2 pt convert with under 3 min left a win should be in the bag. To say the stamps are the lucky ones here is pretty laughable.

Burris said the Stamps were lucky not to lose in his post game interview you tool. I made it quite clear I was saying HE said that.

Next time try learning how to read.

Jesus, next time try reading the whole thread before you show up and make yourself look like an ahole.

Pretty simple - Stamps make the Grey Cup, you give me an avatar and/or Sig I have to sport on this site until the start of the NHL Playoffs.

Stamps don't make it, I give you an avatar/sig until NHL playoffs.

I hope I lose this bet.

I rest my case. At this juncture, I dare say it's not me that comes off like the tool.

That's one of the more immature responses I've ever read on here. Quite baffling actually.

Wait...what? I could be wrong here and am too lazy to go back and check, but didn't Ralph make the TD catch for the tie on 1st and goal? If the DB breaks up the pass the Riders don't necessarily win, there would have been two more downs and given how close to the endzone the Stamps were they likely would have punched it in anyway.

You rest your case what? Did you even read my post? What bias was there?

You clearly can't read, nor did you take my suggestion to learn because I already pointed out that bolded part was an extension of my comment about Burris saying they were lucky not to lose, which I only posted because I thought it was interesting that he'd be that up front and because the poster I was originally responding to seemed to think the Riders got lucky but that the Stamps sucked. (or something like that) And since he isn't 12 years old, he managed to respond like an adult.

Please, next time let us adults have a nice discussion about the CFL without dumbing down our thread with your stupidity. I'm really serious. There was some interesting discussion in this thread and then one moron has to come and ruin it for everyone else by acting like a jackass. If you want to go and rag on Rider fans just because they cheer for another team please do it on another forum.

Actually, since you clearly are having problems comprehending english, I went back and fixed it for you. Instead of starting a new paragraph I left the last sentence in the same paragraph as the Burris comment. Please for the love of god tell me you aren't still too dense to understand the post. BURRIS said that, NOT ME. BURRIS. He is the quarterback of the Stamps. BURRIS said the Stamps were LUCKY NOT TO LOSE because the Chick call could have gone either way and BURRIS said the game probably could have been over and no one would have complained. THE STAMPS, said BURRIS, were lucky that the refs made that call because otherwise they would have lost.

Are you so obtuse you still can't understand my post? Why do I get the feeling I'm wasting my time? At least the other Stamps fans in this thread, even if they disagree with me, don't purposely act like they are morons.

And Arlo I think you might be right. Either way it was that close to not being a TD.

Who is the one name calling here? I HAVE read your post. I've read many of your posts re the riders. I pointed out bias, which I felt there was. How have I purposely acted as a moron exactly in this scenario?

Unreal the conclusion you jump to here.

Is that your roundabout way of apologizing?

Well apology accepted. Just next time make sure you try and read closer because I won't be so forgiving.

I thought it was second and 2 and they still could have picked up a first down without getting a TD, but I could be wrong.

You are right, it was 2nd and 2.

Still a 3rd and 2 and the outcome could have been very different.

Yep.

I think Joffrey would have got the two yards as it has been shown over the past two years that the Riders have a real tough time with him and was shocked they didn't just give it to him until he scored from that distance.

We should of gone for a two point conversion when we scored with like 3 minutes left in regulation. If we get it the games pretty much over, if we dont its still a seven point lead and I doubt the Riders would have gone for the two point conversion.

We should have played defense against a bad opposition QB and offense.

If we do they is is definitely over.
