This is my outlook on the situation. I moved out at 19 as well, and I'm happy being that guy who eats mac and cheese and cannot afford a damn thing if it means I have my independence. It's not that I don't love my parents, I do, in fact me being out on my own has really improved my relationship with them.

Why do girls say "my girlfriend" and not just "my friend".
I would never say "Tonight my guyfriends and I are going to the bar to watch the game".
I've always just said friend, whether they are male or female.

I never dropped a class that I could pass with a decent grade. You're just wasting your money (hopefully yours and not your parents') if you drop out now. Get a decent grade and get the credit.
Out of interest sake, what is the course material on?

My mom wrote instructions on how to do laundry in our laundry room, so that's how I learned to do it myself. In the building i'm in now, there's a huge sign that tells you how to do laundry and operate the machines and what cold and hot water is for. If you're clueless, all it takes is a little reading. Not that difficult.
I Iron every once in a while too. I wear a lot of shirts that require ironing, but I hate doing it cause it takes a good chunk of time, but it's not hard to figure out. I'm pretty sure I figured it out by trial and error.
I like cooking so that's ok for me. I pretty much make every meal myself. I hardly eat out at all. I also don't have a dishwasher, so I have to clean all my dishes by hand. That takes a good amount of time as well. Living on your own takes a lot more effort than living at home, but it's worth it to have your independence.

They like to tease and torment the male population. Saying girlfriends evokes images of her and her friends having naked tickle fights.

I moved out when I was 18. It was the best decision I ever made.
You have more fun and you get laid more.

It's an elective for me: Film Theory.
It sounded interesting, and there are a lot of good films that we are supposed to screen. The class is just not what I was expecting.
I've never dropped a class before. I figure if I do though, I get half my tuition back and more free time. I'll also get to take something that interests me next semester.

What the heck do you do, Hoot?
You live in a place your parents own, I recall you have a relatively expensive car you have souped up, you play golf a lot and get baked a lot.
I have a decent job but couldn't pull that off; where do you get the time and money to do all this?

Yeah it does
Before add/drop date = 100% back
After add/drop before Oct 1 = 75% back
After Oct 1st but before final Withdraw date = 50% back
After final withdraw date = 0% back
I just mean I don't know how much tuition is for each course I'm in. I don't get any of the fees (gym, newspaper, etc) that are mandatory back.
I think tuition is around 4-500 a course.
I'll be happy if I get a couple hundred back and am able to sell my text back for a decent price. I should only be out ~$300 all said and done.

Right now I don't do anything so this is why I have so much spare time. From May til now my days consisted of golf, getting baked, golf, round trips and golf.
I was lucky enough to have a previous job where I made a bit of money where I accumulated a big savings, so just been living off that, which is where I get the money. I quit that job because I hated the owner/manager and to me Happiness >>> Money.
Also I will admit I am a bit of spoiled child where my parents give me breaks on the rent and give me cash here and there. As Sliver would say I am sucking at the teet, like anyone would do any different.
Really I would be the first person to admit I am a lucky SOB right now but it can't go on forever so in January I will be going back to work. I am by no means a wealthy person I would just say I am good/lucky with money and know how to get the most out of it.
I'm the type who lives for today and I will figure out what to tomorrow, tomorrow.

At the time I thought she was a bit of a bitch, but in retrospect, I'm glad. I'd hate to be one of those helpless losers that needs his mom or his wife to do everything for him.
I've got a buddy that can't iron. Or says he can't. I don't know what's so difficult or intimidating about an iron. If you don't like ironing, don't buy shirts that require it. But it's impossible to "not know how to iron". When he says that, what he really means is "I'm too lazy to do it, so I'll make my g/f do it for me".

My mom was pretty much the exact same way. I was making my own lunches and doing my own laundry in elementary school. I'm sure I hated her for it at the time, but it certainly helped make me pretty self sufficient.
One of my first roomates was the most useless person I have ever met. When he was living at home, his mom did absolutely everything for him, cook, clean, laundry, etc. I honestly think that when we moved in together he thought I would do that stuff for him... and no, he wasn't even my boyfriend. He didn't know how to do anything. He couldn't even cook pasta.
Parents should not be sending their kids out in the world without having taught them basic skills such as cooking and cleaning... their kids are friggin' useless.

Haha, mom did my laundry and made my lunch every day from kindergarten to grade twelve. It was friggin' sweet. It's not like we didn't help though.
That doesn't mean I can't do anything though. Moved out last year for first year uni (lived in rez) and this year we (and by we I mean my family) sold a piece of land and bought a condo. My housemate and I are surviving fine with cooking and cleaning. I've hardly ate restaurant food at all since moving here.
I think it had a lot to do with me growing up on a farm. I like to think I have a pretty damn good work ethic when it comes to things I want to do.
