Have the simple rules had an adverse effect on your mathematical skills?

A friend of mine who is a Pharmacist told me that I would have to drink 7 cans of diet pepsi a day to go over my daily allowable intake of aspartame..

I would say I drink 5 cans of diet pepsi a week..

Well, that's probably good advice. But I bet a pharamcist would have different advice than a Nurtritionist, who would have different advice than a Naturopath, etc. It's hard to say what's really "right" when there's so many different experts out there. I personally think diet pop just tastes pretty nasty so I avoid it.

But then I have had trainers tell me, and read on the internet, that the base to any good diet is a solid multi-vitamin.

Thoughts? Is a multi-vitamin more of a way to fill up the already full cup? Or is it just topping everything off to make sure it is well rounded enough? I find that my urine is bright yellow the days I take multi vitamins, usually a sign that I am peeing it all away?
Doctor recommendations are often comical. Did he say that after looking at your blood test? After analyzing your urine? Analyzing your diet? If not, how would he know what you should or should not be taking?

I take a multi-vitamin twice a day, and I've never had a problem. The chances that you're going to take something in such an excess that your body will suffer is rare.

As for the brightly colored urine. Vitamin B does that when it flushes through your system. Which it does very fast after taking the multi-vitamin. Mine is also brightly colored the first time I pee after taking the multi-vitamin.

That is the standard size I want for fish oil pills? 1000 mg?
Yeah.

Although if you buy the fish oil capsules that T-Nation sells, they give you a higher dosage.

Stick with the Webber Naturals though. Can you buy them at Walmart? I'm not sure, but usually I tend to by vitamins and fish oil pills at Oliver Health Foods in Lethbridge. Health Food stores usually don't care cheap brands.

With regards to the sugar cravings, I actually don't drink a lot of pop. It's more that I crave sweets almost on a daily basis.
Certainly isn't standard. In fact it would be considered insane by my doctor.

I like doing insane things.

Does this stuff make your breath smell like fish? I tried something similar in the past and couldn't continue with it?

Might have to give it a try. The stuff I had was in a liquid form so maybe this is why? BTW : Walmart also sells it.

Sobey's might, too. Thrifty's does here in Victoria, and Sobey's owns them.

Did you also have lots of gas?

Whatever they do to coat the capsules seems to fix it.

The Food Pyramid, Bowden-Style

Q: If you were to redesign the old government food pyramid, what would it look like?
A: It would probably be more like a circle with about 70% of calories divided equally among protein, fat, and fibrous vegetables and fruits; another 10% for nuts, another 10% for beans, and an optional 10% for grains.
probably NSFW link.

I highly recomend getting a blender for making tasty health shakes. They're a good way to sneak things into your diet that you don't normally get enough of, and they're so quick and portable that you always have time to make one. I use a base of:

frozen fruit (I like peach/mangoes/kiwi)
yogurt (I like peach)
soy milk
orange juice (any fruit juice)
banana (half or whole)

This all tastes pretty great and you can add: protein powder, flax (oil), wheat germ or whatever foul-tasting, super-healthy product you want to add to your diet. They also have a lot of energy in them, which can help deter one from drinking coffee.

Like I said earlier, if they're coated you don't burp or smell like fish.

I have to apologize to my friend Dan Fern for this one. A few years ago we were both skinny kids looking to gain weight. So we came up with the T-Bomb shake. It was hell to drink, but it sure packed in the calories. Make this at your own peril. And don't blame us if you can't finish it, Nancy Boy!

If memory serves...

1 cup of uncooked oats
1 cup of cottage cheese
1 banana
2-3 scoops of chocolate Metabolic Drive protein
1 heaping tablespoon of natural peanut butter
Enough water to not make it thick as

Drink directly out of blender while watching Pumping Iron and high-fiving.

Ok so Mexi Tuna was a bust. I decided to try it for a few days before I went on a whole week binge.. I can take the raw black beans and green beans, the salsa ALMOST masks the Tuna, but not quite.

I have never been able to eat Tuna, I powered through about half way then almost puked. I was gagging and fighting off puking for the rest of the night.

So today I decided to try it again, with more salsa, some pepper, and just eat it slow with less tuna... same result.. I can't stomach it.

So I need a viable replacement for my lunch, I need something with 40g of Protein, 500 or less calories... it can be anything basically that doesn't have mayo or tuna.. I have access to a fridge and microwave here at work as well. I was thinking something along a wrap.. but I am already eating chicken twice that day.

The other option is canned Salmon instead, I am going to try that today..

As a reminder here is my meal plan we worked out:

Meal 1: 4 eggs, 1 grape fruit

Meal 2: Garden Salad plain with pieces of chicken breast + apple

Meal 3: Mexi Tuna ( no longer works) + banana

Meal 4: Yogurt + Almonds + apple

Meal 5: Salmon fillet + whole grain rice/pasta side dish, optional brocolli, brussle sproats greens

Meal 6: Chicken Breast with lettuce
