I think Olympic competition, like most people, prefer their woman to be more woman than man by more than a marginal percentage.

This is most certainly an ethical/social quandary. Frankly I really dont care whether 'she' keeps her medal, but I'm sure the bona fide women who competed against her would beg to differ.

Unfortunately, whichever way this goes, this kid is in for a world of hurt. She lives in a small community in South Africa, not the world's most notoriously tolerant nation on a good day.

if Semenya has total AIS, then she's a girl. And a pretty fast one, it would appear, owing to her prowess as an athlete, not to any features of AIS.

From that one article, if she does suffer from Testosterone insensitivity, it doesn't matter that she's producing male level of it, her body physically can't absorb it at a level that would constitute cheating.
It sucks however that this condition is now revealed to the whole world and her life will never be the same
