That hurts Iggy.... really hurts...

Arent polls weird?.... Ou drops 10 spots from 3 to 13 , after getting beat by 1pt ( and of course losing their Star QB) on a "neutral field"

And last year Florida drops only 8 spots from 4 to 12 after getting beat at home by an Unranked team.... Funny huh ....

Well if ole Virgin Tebow can bring his team back from the depths of a Mid tier bowl possibility, I gotta think that Porn Stache Jones can do it too ... he just needs to make speech where he cries and promises to win and ESPN will eat it up and play it over and over and everyone will jump on the Bandwagon. Opposing Teams will crumble underneath the weight of the nations love for the Sooners!!! HAHA.....

Anyhow , Ou will be alright, Everyone will be singing a different tune when the Big 12 trophy is back in Norman this year AGAIN. Our defense is good , we held the number 6 offense from last year to 14 pts. We just need to get an offense game plan that allows us to utilize our 2 x 1000 yd backs to open up the pass game..

Sports talk was a hoot today , I felt the need to call in and say Damn take a chill pill. Its one loss lets see how they overcome adversity. If they wake up , overcome the loss and win games well then we have a good football team , if they wither away and lose 3 or 4 more then we dont have a good team . Thats the way college football is. Nobody stays great for forever..

OU DIDNT LOOK GOOD ON DEFENSE?????? like my post above said , We held last years #6 offense to 14 pts and thats a bad showing defensively?? Hell Texas gave up 20 or so the ULM......

Did you watch the Miami game? Yes they are very fast but every pass play FSU ran it seemed like they had no safeties.... GAPING holes in the secondary ...... We will see how it goes, of course I have Crimson colored glasses but I try to be honest. Miami will be a tough Opponent but they arent gonna come in and walk over OU. FSU defense was horrible in the game and not near as good as what OU's def showed.

Oklahoma's 'greatness' ended in '03.

We'll see how good Oklahoma's defense is against a true test. For me, the jury is still out. If they can stand up to other Big 12 offenses, then Sooner fans might have something to be hopeful about.

damn man you have a serious man love crush with florida.....

maybe the reason why florida didn't fall so far behind in the polls is because they didn't look pathetic as OU did in the loss.

I really hope to see Bradford again though. that kid is a stud and a great charecter guy to basically give up millions to win a NC. Now we dont know if he will be drafted in the first round...

nope, no man crush , just love how the media and love fest for teams on the east give them favor in the polls .... If Florida drops 10 spots like OU did , do they eek out enough computer pts to put them in the title game etc... Its just funny how the polls and media stuff works.. FLorida led for what the 2nd quarter of the game and thats all...... I mean im not trying to defend anything, if Ou takes care of business then this is a moot point.

Ou didnt look good but pathetic is far from it . They lost their Star QB, and lost by a point ..... to a top 20 team ...whom is now #9 I might add

Hmmm, well that's news to me. Didn't realize that only east coast voters got a say on the AP and Coaches polls.

You're being a homer, plain and simple. The polls are always random and often baseless, geography has nothing to do with it. OU probably shouldn't have fallen as far as they did, but that team is packed full of question marks. Florida played poorly last year and lost a game they should have won, but they didn't come out of it losing their star player, and we both know that means a whole heck of a lot.

I am a homer tis true... But if you dont think Espn coverage can influence polls then your being naive. DO you really think the coaches who vote get to watch every game ? No , they see the highlights and hear what espn has to say about the game... The polls are not random , sadly every poll has its own agenda when it comes down to it . Geography also plays a part in it , Lets say Pete Carroll from Usc has a coaches poll vote. He is gonna rank the teams he plays higher in a coaches poll to make his wins look better.

The coaches poll has come under criticism for being inaccurate, with some of the charges being that coaches are biased towards their own teams and conferences, that coaches don't actually complete their own ballots, and that coaches are unfamiliar with even the basics on some teams.

SO Yes I will agree I am being bias but you need to realize your wrong in what your saying....I know you guys get TSN up there but do you get Espn ??? If you do .....watch ESPN, the teams they favor will get a lot more airplay and highlights shown....

I live in Michigan, I watch ESPN every single day. You are 100% out to lunch.

Also: Way to not address the fact that OU lost their two most important players for the foreseeable future, not like that could have anything to do with the polls. Must be ESPN's fault, gimme a break.

I just told you I am Bias.... Whether or Not OU gets shafted or not is not the issue. As a matter of fact I think Texas should have been the Natl title game last year instead of OU. They did beat OU straight up. I think OU was helped out a lot last year because ESPN hyped them up because they were setting offensive records. I guess we will agree to disagree..... SO your opinion is that coaches get to see every game so their votes are dead on and they arent swayed at all by the coverage on TV or they dont try to vote up their conference to make their wins look better ??

seems like you might be a little bit out to lunch as well..

Where did I say the coaches votes were dead on? In fact you responded to my previous post in which I said " The polls are always random and often baseless". Where you're out to lunch is your ESPN controls things theory.

Also: See the also above, you keep dodging that as an explanation for the fall in the rankings.

Yeah Yeah i guess i read your response wrong about the rankings.... Sad thing about them being random and baseless is they oft time determine who plays in the natl title game ... Like last years. THere was no clear cut 2 top teams in football..... However forgive me for explaining to you what you already knew about the polls... I shouldnt read and post on forums while I am so tired... At least I am sober this time

Anywho Yes the injuries could have played a part but I like to argue in favor of OU cause like we all are, we are homers for our own team

more arguing to ensue tomorrow morn!

Still upset that College Gameday isn't shown on any channel up here. Used to love watching it on Saturday mornings ... even sent an e-mail to TSN last year about it and didn't get a response. Wish they'd show it even on TSN2 instead of Canadian Sportfishing and SportCentre re-runs.

Absolutely. This team looks terrible. Sorry Hawk, you got 4 years, later. Unfortunately, I doubt it happens, he's got a 3 million dollar buyout in his contract.
