Reviews are coming out now. I just watched EA 2010 vs 2k7 on Reviews on the run.
They had good things to say about both games but agreed that EA was te fuller experience and the passing was good since it was not magnetic or perfect.
9.25/10 I beleive Should be up on G4tv . com
Seems a little unfair comparing a NHL 10 to a 3 year old 2K game.

has anyone seen any info on player ratings? i recall last year some stuff was leaked out. i don't keep up on stuff as much as some people, so thought i would see if any of you guys had seen anything.
I'm sure bertuzzi's stats will be to your liking, so no need to worry there.
ironically, one of the things that made me most mad last year was how high chelios was rated. when the game came out, he was the 2nd highest rated dman on detroits roster, ahead of rafalski, stuart, and kronwall. it was ridiculous. that was one of the reasons i took so long to play a dynasty. the darn ratings were so bad i felt like i needed to change them before i could start. and then i kept putting it off and never did so.

There is a feature in FIFA that has player ratings affected each week based on what is happening in the actual soccer leagues. That would be a great addition to NHL I think.

i still wish the player ratings changed more based off of the actual results in dynasty mode. if a guy leads the team in hits, then his physical abilities should go up. he he leads in goals then his shooting should go up. i realize they do the upgrade points currently, but it still seems like such a flawed system. i don't know about you guys, but i am sick of seeing my wingers and dmen use their upgrade points on faceoffs. its just silly.
along those lines, the overall ratings should be different depending on position. for instance ovechkin. he may be a 95 at wing, but if he gets moved to center, he should only be a 90 since his faceoffs are bad and his game is not quite as suited for center (overall awareness etc) and if he gets moved to D he would only be like an 80 because his defensive ratings are not as good.
i just find it silly that i can place lidstrom at forward and have him be just as awesome.
/end rant

What do you guys think of this cover I made? I know it's Kane but I couldn't think of anyone
I might've gone a bit overboard with the splatter effects, but tell me what you think.

I don't get it. Like you said his faceoffs suck and he has poor defensive stats so if you put him in either position he wouldn't be as effective. Why does it matter what his overall rating is when the result is the same? The overall number is just the average of all of the stats. So a 90 overall defenseman will be better at defense than a 90 overall forward because of their defensive stats. I just don't see any reason for the overall numbers to change based on position.

EA poorly programmed the Media Hub. It is so slow that it will take literally HOURS to set up all the playlists since NHL 09 re-reads the list of playlists off the network multiple times when you are browsing through it. To avoid this problem I'd recommend advanced users to do the following:
1. Make sure you have all files in a watched folder and WMP/your xbox can recognize the playlists/mp3s.
2. Remove any non-NHL 09 playlists temporarily from your WMP library.
3. Start NHL 09 (it is important to do this after Step 2 and before Step 4 or else it might not show the playlists at all).
4. Make a temporary folder (in a place where WMP doesn't watch, such as on your desktop) and cut the playlists from the watched folder and paste them into the temporary folder.
5. Cut and Paste the Playlists for every playlist installation step (I'll list the steps to install the playlists below, so don't worry about that yet) from the Temporary Folder into the Watched Folder where the playlists originally were.
6. Once you are done with installing the playlists into the Media Hub, Cut and Paste them from the Watched Folder back into the temporary folder and proceed to the next playlist installation step.
7. Once you are done with all playlist installation steps, you can put all the playlists back into the watched folder.

I believe my computer at home has WMP 11, and last night I was trying this, and got to the cut and copy into a desktop folder, and couldn't find anything to cut my playlists with? Can anyone help here? Was I born dumb or naturally acquired it from drinking well water off my farm?
What do you mean? What i did was just cut (right click and find cut) and cut the folders that i didn't need, like if I was doing home goal, I would cut all the other ones out of the watched folder. It only has that as instructions so that you don't have to scroll through a bunch of playlists every time you choose a team.

Ya I totally understand the directions, its just I right click, and there is no cut option there, delete is all, but that isn't what I want though as you can't even send it to the trash can and then bring back when needed.
