Hijack a Safeway or Co-op truck, they should have some there.

That's not quite fool proof. I bet that if he did this, 15 of those 75 times he'd receive a bowl of chili.

I would love to go through a drive-thru and order 300 of any item.

Seriously though, just call up a couple catering companies and get a quote from them.

I always thought throwing rice at the bride and groom was lame, but pelting them with baked potatoes would be fun.

I used to make them by the pan at work... Potatoes, lots of olive oil, sea salt. Cover an entire baking sheet. Hot oven (400+), bake for 30-40 mins. Just cut one open to make sure its cooked threw, will be crispy on the out side. Use good quality extra virgin olive oil. You should have no problem making 30 in one shot in a normal convection oven. middle rack..

This thread is pretty great!

Ummm, who's doing the rest of the food? If you have a caterer already, couldn't you just ask them about their potato baking capacity?

Costco has the best russet potatoes around. They're huge.

I've used a couple of companies at work for various catering things and they were pretty accomodating.

VIP's Gourmet Catering - (403) 720-8445 - They have baked potatoes with sour cream as a side dish (very tasty) and you could give them a call and see what the pricing would be.

Nick's Steakhouse & Pizza - (403) 263-2377 - Again, always had excellent and accomodating service (no matter how picky of a menu) from them and they do make a good baked potato.

There is no caterer.

Because I told them I would do nothing other than picking a couple cases of meat up, I thought I would be safe from the fiasco that this is turning out to be. Secretly, I hoped I would end up with a box of top sirloin in my freezer that would magically turn into next summers steak supply once the wedding was over. However, I did not factor in the wedding be 2 weeks after my wife's C- Section, and that she would be guilt tripped into helping, and by extension, I would be as well.

They had apparently planned on getting Sobeys to put the potatoes in their baking ovens, I guess something didn't work out with that.

Oh well, I am picking up the meat tomorrow. My secret plan is well on its way to coming together.

Nope.

My only motivation here is to distance myself from the cooking of these potatoes enough that my oven does not need to be on.
