The Chiefs beat them at home last year and just came up short in Denver. That was when everyone thought Denver was good.

But since I can't do that, San Francisco 49ers select Michael Oher.

Even with Marvel Smith signing, the line has long been an injury issue for the team and Oher's abilities will suit the "4 yards and a cloud of dust" offense that it seems the 49ers are going to go with.
This was my post from the NFL mock draft thread a few months ago.

I'm posting that because of something that has come to light today.

From the SacBee beat writer today:
Quote:
Remember, if Crabtree hadn't been available to the 49ers at pick no. 10, they would have selected Ole Miss offensive tackle Michael Oher, who would have been signed and starting at right tackle by this point.
And why is that important today?
Quote:
Marvel Smith's bad back has not improved over the offseason, and there's a good chance the nine-year veteran will hang up his cleats for good on Sunday or Monday, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
http://www.sacbee.com/static/weblogs...%20and%20Q%26A

So it like like the O-Line will once again be an issue.

Crabtree has to be the dumbest person on the planet at the moment. Even dumber than Brandon Marshall who at least has a contract.

The Broncos can't trade Marshall. They've already let one player whine his way out of town.

This one isn't McDaniels fault, Marshall is getting some brutal advice. They won't get anything for him, and that isn't good enough.

Personally, I think they should offer him a fat incentive laden contract extension with a couple of very specific behavior clauses.

Greg Jennings goes down with a concussion last night...but says he is OK.

Quote:
“Got hit, got a concussion,” Jennings said on his way out of the locker room. “But I’m good now.”

Jennings said he got knocked unconscious briefly.

“Yeah for a second or two,” he said. “It’s part of football. I’m good now. Everything’s working normal. I called the wife and told her everything’s good, and I’m good to go.”
Also...Aaron Rodgers has been nothing short of spectacular thus far. The No. 1 team hasn't punted in 3 games this year.

Quote:
After going 14-of-19 passing for 258 yards and three touchdowns (with no interceptions), here are quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ combined preseason totals: 27-of-38 passing for 458 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions for a passer rating of 151.1.
The defense on the oher hand is still a work in progress.

Brady's shoulder is always injured. On the broadcast they were talking about how a couple years ago he was on the injury report every week with a sore shoulder. I don't think that it is anything to worry about, however his backup Kevin O'Connell's performance is something I would worry about.

The defense on the oher hand is still a work in progress.
Their no 1 defence, has been fantastic. forced 4 or more turnovers in every preseason game. However, their 2s and 3s have not been as good especialy last night. However, it was the no 2 offence for the Cards (which is still amost as good as some team's 1 with the depth they have) against eseentilly the 3 unit for the Packers.
but depth is, and always has been, a concern on defence for the Packers.

Jennings, good to go or not, needs to sit the rest of the preseason. No since in risking a second concussion and my fantasy seasons.

Brees and the offence are three possessions, three touchdowns early in the second quarter against the Raiders. Brees' command of the offence is pretty amazing to watch.

So Chiefs fans... What do you think of a the Jackson pick now? Especially with Orakpo looking like a hoss?

Just to be clear I am honestly asking what you guys think? Has Jackson looked good?

Brodie Croyle is probably the best QB out of the three, but isn't durable and has had injury problems since high school. Odd choice to get rid of Thigpen when it is very likely he will be the starter by week 4 (or possible the fourth quarter of week 1) due to injury.
Probably won't trade him now that Cassel is injured. OUCH!

I'm willing to give him a couple seasons until I pass too much judgement on him. It took Neil Smith a couple of seasons until he became a high end pass rusher.

But it was a bit of a did they really pick that guy with the #3 pick reaction I had when they made the pick. If that was the player they really wanted, I think they could have traded down a few spots and still got him though. Years from now I can't imagine people looking at this draft and saying Jackson was the best player from that draft.

O'Connell has been dumped by the Pats.

Interesting, it says that he is subject to the waiver wire and Kansas City has third dibbs, after Detroit and St. Louis. The article insinuates that Kansas is the likely destination.

If the Chiefs get O'Connell and move Tyler Thigpen, they'll have the same trio of quarterbacks that the Pats had last year, post-Brady: Cassell, O'Connell, and Matt Gutierrez.

EDIT: Brodie Croyle Says hello

I'm currently enjoying watching Jay Culter dissect the Broncos defense. McDaniels looks lost and like a Belichick wannabe. Oh, and "The Franchise" Kyle Orton is in the dressing room with a boo-boo on his finger.

Since he left the AFC West, I can thoroughly enjoy Cutler's talents.

Well the Chiefs hopes for a 3 win season just went down the drain....Time to get Thiggy with it and take our two wins to the draft and hope the top end talent is there this year.

You may still beat Denver twice.. they look pathetic without Cutler.
