I think the passing demonstrated in those videos was still too perfect. I would like to see some more passes being bobbled, especially when they are fast. Hopefully the videos were on an easy setting, and also I hope the demonstrator was not using the 360 degree passing.

I'm in the market for a Game Console, I haven't played video games regularly since NHL94 for Sega...

Overall (price/functionality), IYO, which is the better console; Xbox360 or PS3?

Get the PS3 version. The 360 version is one of the reasons I purchased a PS3; game freezes, dirty disc errors - it was brutal.

Online works the same for either version, as it's run through EA's servers; built in Wifi on PS3 is a nice addition to play online.

Be a GM mode looks awesome. Nice upgrades on the old Dynasty mode. It's nice see them getting rid of some of the old cheats like signing a UFA and then trading him the next day. Now a move like this will give you a poor reputation around the league.

I remember in NHL 2003 I traded all my players like this to have a team full of all-stars.

This (NHL 10) looks to be a lot more fun and rewarding.

I was in your situation a year ago.

Here is the thread I created. Lots of good info in there, even though it is a year old.

I am extremely satisfied with my playstation experience.

Hold the "L" trigger when in front of the net. You won't check anyone, it works great.

While I'm very pleased they added that, I still find it's hit and miss when I try it (plus I always forget for some reason). The new way seems much more clean.

Not NHL 10 related but go Xbox 360. My PS3 gets no play time with my 360. The only upside to the PS3 is blu-ray, I hate the controller for it. If your at all into shooters it is terrible.

Who doesn't put them in different spots, it feels betters in every aspect. Having the thumb sticks in the same place is stupid.

You're a lucky one. This issue is very widespread; try googling NHL 08 or NHL 09 and disc read error and you'll get a bunch of searches for it. Rather disapointing for the system, but it happens to a lot of games; Oblivion was another really bad one.

Thanks for the link ... I was looking at the ones on IGN and was wondering what the 2 locked out videos were.

Edit: Wow, I HATE that Honda Highlight Reel overlay they have when the game is done. I really like the replays. That sucks.

Hmm, never heard of that. My machine is fairly new, would that make it less likely to be an issue? Hopefully there's no future issues, I spent a lot of time debating between PS3 and 360 and I'm still never convinced that I made the right choice.

If your machine is new you are in a much better position. The new 360's deal with heat (the enemy) much better than the old ones.

Don't bother yourself with debating yourself in your head. Both systems are awesome and both are prone to breakdown. The 360 has a brutal track record ... that being said 2 of my friends have had their ps3's die on them. Both systems offer a great experience.
