It would be totally sweet if they added the Franchise mode that Madden is getting. I know hockey way more than football.

Go to IGN and watch the videos on "Online Franchise".
It is a 32 (NFL, I think 32 teams.) league that you get to pick a team, and run it for a year with 30+ friends/other players. You can trade players, play each other, etc.
I so wish NHL 10 would have it, and if not 10, for the 20th anniversary, NHL 11.

They showed a video of this at E3 ... I got very excited as this has been my dream for years. I really like the EASHL, but I much prefer to control an entire team than just one guy. If they had a system of organization like Madden (with an actual schedule) it would be incredible. Madden even has a website and an iphone app that lets you follow the league.

That would be sick, we could start a CP online one if they have it in NHL

I'm more hopeful reading the blog post ( here) but I'm still not blown away. I suppose 09 had very little upgrade so I shouldn't complain. I do like the usage of coaches, the implementation of the trade block and the more realistic trading. I hate the idea that you can be fired/traded though ... hopefully it follows the same path as similar modes and you can turn that aspect off. There was a dynasty mode a few years back where you could be fired if you didn't meet certain expectations. I remember I won the cup but was fired because I didn't have the best PK in the league.

I love the idea of the prospects game to scout players before the draft, mostly because it seems logical that it would be incorporated as part of the beginning in the BAP mode.

New videos up on IGN. (Actually from a couple days ago, but I have not seen them mentioned here).

Thanks for the video. Good to see the "normal" game play with normal views. A couple things that caught my eye:
-Crowd reactions to goals look good.
-Missing one timers and slide off into the corner.
-All Star game, a facewash after the whistle from Markov leads immediately to a fight with Campbell. I assume fighting sensativity was turned up for that to happen. Also, watching Campbell's helmet pop off, and then slowly crumple to the ice with a smile on his face look somewhat errie.
-Seeing two or three goals in these vids show that computer AI defending cross ice passes is still going to be an exploit. Most of all, it just appears that the probablity of those passes getting across the ice past one or two defenders, right onto the stick of a streaking guy on the far post who can then one time it or control and shoot in one motion, is still set too unrealisticlly high.

But keep in mind this is a video game and not too many people are going to play if you can't set up crazy plays and do somewhat unhuman things. If it gets too real, it would get too boring IMO
