I killed a lot of time at Average Joe's in my days there, but there are better things to do I'm sure.
I can also vouch for O-Sho's - they have pretty good sushi as I recall.
It's not the most exciting city in the world, but I met some great people there and have a lot of fond memories.
I once read that it has the highest number of Ph.D.'s per capita in Canada (between retirees and the University and College, I guess). It also has a large number of ultra-marathon runners, and the Lost Souls Ultramarathon in September (with courses of 50K, 100K and 100 miles) is very popular amongst runners. It is also gaining a reputation for indie music.
All in all, I'd say it's a great place to live, but I wouldn't want to visit there.
