When the SRT's first hit the streets, you could not get them in the manual...you could order them with the manual, but there was either supply or design problems.....
Also, the man 6 spd is bundled in with the rear posi and other things, I think its about a $3000 option.
Dodge loves their 5 spd auto trans because they build in a pretty heavy torque management in the ECM...it basically ######s power when the Trans is getting ready to shift....this slows them down alot.
Chev does this as well with their auto's but a good tuner can tone down the TM....last I heard, the ECM code for chrysler (daimler carryover) had not been cracked...this may have changed recently...but last I heard there was no aftermarket tunes available for chryco, just piggyback chips.
Not a problem on the shelby as Ford doesnt offer an auto in that bad boy. To bad they are having so many clutch/trans problems with the manuals though
