Although if you can get into a true outdoor ball park on a nice day the experience is way better. I much preferred the games I saw recently in Safeco field to games I watched in the 90's at the Kingdome.

But there is no doubt going to a live game involves so much more than just watching the game, in terms of live vs watching on TV I think Baseball has the biggest difference. Much more fun to watch live.

Went to my first live baseball game this year, and I must agree, it's about 100 times funner than watching it on TV. Got Row 1 in RF, right above the visitor's bullpen, for the Jays game. Great time!

I've been to a few parks now. the now-parking-lot Vet Stadium in Philly, Camden Yards in Baltimore, the Ballpark in Arlington, TX and Safeco. I'd love to do an east coast road trip and hit about a dozen parks.

Probably becuase he can't hit the plate. Or at least whenever I seem to watch him pitch he can't.

Baseball games live are a lot better than on TV (watching baseball with a PVR however, is absolutely awesome)

But I would never ever say its the best sport to watch live. Not by a long shot.

when he pitches as infrequently as he does, how can he get better? can't be any worse than some of the performances I've seen recently from the rest of the staff.

League wasn't able to hit the plate in his last 2 appearances and Carlson earned himself some rope - just too bad he's hanging himself with it.

On the side side of the coin, if the guy hasn't earned the chance to pitch frequently then why should Cito just give him that chance?

It's not like the guy isn't throwing in practice. League hasn't been able to hit the plate at every level he's thrown at so really why should the MLB be any different?

While I haven't been a fan of Cito's bullpen management, all that sort of stuff plays way in the backseat to the player's performance on the field. It's hard to blame Cito for Ryan/Wolfe combining for one out and three runs against. Any major league reliever should be able to get through that inning with at worst a tie on a very consistent basis.

The Jays have had such terrific bullpen work for the last couple years, I can let a bad week slide.

Coming into the road trip I wanted a 5-4 record, I got an 0-9. So they "lost" 5 games I wanted as wins, but I think they earned some leeway with their play earlier this year.

This team had to take a bit of a nosedive, even I saw that and I'm a total homer, seems like the slide coincided with an unlucky streak. But 1.5 games back is nothing that the Jays can't overcome if they consistently outplay their division rivals.

My "real" worry is that Wells and Rios are terrible and should comprise the team's strengths, but I'm not off the bandwagon yet!

Blue Jays better take advantage now because Wakefield looks awful out there right now and the Umps already have made their bad calls to help the Jays.

Wakefield is so odd in how he can look great or terrible and very rarely in between.

This is the Jays problem. They have played the AL east terrible so far and have a whack of games left in their division. They need to go better than .500 in the east to have a small chance at the postseason. One thing's certain though, not too many teams can lose 9 straight and still be only 1.5 games out of first in their division. Hopefully that was rock bottom and a 9 game winning streak is just around the corner.

The Rays had a 6 or 7 game losing streak last year. Those sorts of things happen over a long season.

Totally agree. Get it out of the way now and not in september when hopefully we are still in the thick of things. They talked about the 7 game losing streak the Rays had on the broadcast a couple games ago. It happened right before the allstar break and the first game back they were down 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth with something like only 2 or 3 hits all game looking to lose there 8th in a row when a single was followed by a walk off jack. Madden went on to say that it was the biggest hit of the year for the Rays.

Despite losing all those games, the Jays are only 1 back of Boston and 1.5 back of the Yanks.

No big deal if they return to their winning ways.

Rios and Wells just hit back-to-back RBI base hits to take the lead 5-3
