The offense clearly isn't working. Tweak the lineup for a game or two, if Rios isn't demoralized from seeing his own at-bats then he is un-demoralizable.
Maybe JP should be shopping for an upgrade at DH. There's gotta be some bargains out there we can use so fans (read: me) don't go to the bathroom when the 3-4-5 hitters are due up.

It's really the only way to watch the Jays anyway. Selective tuning. Cito should hope a couple of guys get injured so he can experiment with some callups other than rookie pitchers.

Yeah, but its pretty goofy that I look forward to the 8-9-1 inning instead of the 3-4-5

I hope he gets traded. The two "best" players on our team haven't been worth a dime this season.

They are failing with excellence right now. Darn, an interesting baseball season would have been fun. I'm trying to think of another player who I dislike as much as Alexis Rios, why did Brian Sabean have to grow a brain all of a sudden.......

As I said, I wait till June to get excited. If they had even won 3 of the last 8, I'd be interested still.
It's pretty much over unless they go on a 5 or 6 game winning streak.

I can't help but think of steroids when I see the epic struggles of certain players around the league, and this does not exclude Rios or even Wells.
There are so many players that go unnamed in this process. Freak season here or there with huge numbers, then back to abysmal production. Luis Gonzalez comes to mind. 20-25 HR guy suddenly pops 50 out.
Rios hits .330, huge HR and RBI totals before that freak infection injury sidelined him the rest of the year. Now the guy doesn't even resemble anything close to a power hitter. The Wells contract is atrocious, but the Rios contract may actually be much worse. I have NEVER seen the guy slide head first for a steal or to avoid a tag for an extra base hit. I can't recall one time he's done this. All the natural tools to be a superstar, no work ethic whatsoever.
The guy wreaks of a player who cashed in, be it using performance enhancing drugs or not (purely my speculation), and really is phoning his effort in on a daily basis. What an albatross of 2 contracts that J.P has handed out to these guys. For a team squeezing pennies trying to compete with the free spending Yanks and BoSox, this will absolutely hinder their ability to add major league talent moving forward. Big league money thrown at a player with beer league work ethic.
Ugh!!

162 games in a season......8 bad ones in a row can be a wake-up call. I'm glad to see the pitching isn't what's causing this losing streak, the offense will wake up. I'll cast judgement on this team at the all-star break.

I really don't see these guys as being roid heads. They have never had unbelieveable season and frankly havent been able to stay healthy their whole careers.
Bottom line is when you have your two best players consistently batting in the bottom end of the team in terms of average, OBP and overall power you can't expect to go anywhere. Give me reed johnson and matt stairs anyday over these two bums.

If the Jays lose this game I would suggest Carlson find a place to hide so Halladay doesn't kill him.
Orioles tie it up. Sigh.
