Didn't we have a similar discussion a few weeks ago? Or was I just drunk?

True, but I think it was the OP that started a similar thread.
I feel bad for MissKat, being lonely sucks.

1)Write on the back of 10 of your business cards " I'm very shy but I think your very pretty, call me if your interested"
2)Go to Safeway,Sobeys..etc and find your dream ladies (check for rings)
3)Walk up and say "hi, i'm leaving my card in your cart"
Sound silly and crazy? I did this on a bet with a buddy and got 3 calls out of 7 cards (one call was 15 minutes later) and I dated 2 of the girls.

This has got to be the most brilliant thing I have ever heard of.

I liked E-harmony because it had you do a lot of personality profile questions before it let you in. So it weeded out at least some of the loonies. And whatever matching software they used, it worked for us.
Anyhoo, lots of great women on there. Probably went on a couple dozen dates in the space of about 6 months. And it didn't cost a grand. More like a couple hundred I think.
Good luck!

Been dating my current gf for a few months now after meeting her on eharmony. I was a little reluctant to sign up but after finding a deal for three months for $30 I figured what the hell. My first attempt I couldn't set up an account because I am technically seperated so I just set up another as single. I would have never met her as she lives in Medicine Hat and I live in Lethbridge and it's is amzing how compatible we really are. I would encourage anyone who has thought about it to give it a try as it just opens up a whole different group of people that you might not otherwise meet in different social settings.
Oh I forgot to ask you, when is YOUR commercial gonna start running?

I know 5 people that signed up for lavalife...
2 of them are engaged to the people they met on that site (after dating for about 2 years)
2 of them have been in a long term relationship with the person they met on that site
1 of them didnt have much luck... he has been on several dates with people he met on lavalife but nothing has really worked out as of yet.
I would highly suggest lavalife over some crazy expensive dating company..

So I just read the other thread that was linked here...
MissKat, I can't believe you wouldn't consider paying $20/month for a place like eHarmony, but you are considering paying $160/month for It's Just Lunch.
Just gonna call it like I see it here, but I think you are so wrapped up in trying to find a relationship, that you aren't going to be happy.
Spend some more time alone (it's been what 6-7 weeks since your break-up). Learn who you really are...learn to be happy with yourself. Only then will you be in a position to start looking for a successful long term relationship.

+1
I firmly believe you have to happy as an individual before you can be happy in a relationship.

Well said! I was going to try to say something along those lines, but I didn't really know how to put it without it coming off like a personal attack against MissKat.
But yeah, breakups definitely suck, and the time immediately following can be very lonely... but instead of trying to fill that void right away, its definitely good to just take some time for yourself. Make your life all about you for a while!

If you're a guy. Buy a suit.
If you're a girl. Have a shot, then go talk to a guy in a suit.
That's how I met my girlfriend. She came up to me and my buddies who "suited up" and we talked for a while before she couldn't wait to give me her number.

I've heard nothing but bad things about dating sites. I know a girl who did the lavalife thing (as well as a few others), and she STILL gets calls from creepy dudes that were stalking her. She said she was on it for about 3 months, dated nothing but weirdos, and virtually no success with any of the guys.
I've never done it, but from the friggin horror stories she told me I doubt I ever would.
