Any half decent dating services in Calgary? I dont even think they exist.
Even with work, I find it incredibly hard to meet new people nowadays. Im looking to meet some new people to help myself move forward from my past relationship that ended exactly 2 weeks ago from today.
The only site I know of is POF (plentyoffish) and even that is not all that great. All the phone chat lines I try to stay away from now, waste of time as Ive tried them in the past.
Is there like no social dating services where a dating company will help you, like where a bunch of people will meet on like a Fri night, for some speed dating?
WTF

Prepare for the CP male onslaught. A CP girl should have no problem getting a date on this website as long as you're willing to date a fellow CPer.

I've heard great things about eharmony, but that's more like plentyoffish isn't it? If I was single I'd use eharmony like a crazy person.

I had the worst luck with eharmony compared to other places. Everyone on there was looking for perfection. It's far from plentyoffish.
I removed my profile from all the internet dating sites last month. Tired of dealing with the crazies.

Haha I have an ex that uses Plenty of Fish and all she's met are creeps and deadbeats. I call it Puddle of Fish, lol.
The problem is it's a free site and let's face it, if a guy (or person) isn't willing to spend a little cash trying it out, they're probably not the kind of person you want in your life. Not saying people have to have money, but the internet is known for attracting weird and needy people. Why scrape the bottom of the net barrel?
I met some nice people on Lavalife years ago. But I had to go through a crap load of rejects too. And I'm saying that as a guy. (Yes women can be scary/lie/take advantage/be losers too) As a woman you'd probably have to go through double.
There's that one that makes you take a personality test before you set up a profile. That might work better. I guess it all depends what you're looking for.

I've found it harder since I separated. When I had a bunch of single friends, adn even after they started getting married, it was still easy to go out to different places and have a good time and eventually meet some people.
Now a lot of friends are married with kids, lots of obligations and I myself realize I'm not the bar/club guy I once was. (Not that I ever was, but with a group of friends you can have fun almost anywhere, even if it isn't your "scene). Just a change so I need to re-learn the rules. My current plan of sitting at home waiting for Jennifer Aniston to knock on my door hasn't paid off (so far *fingers crossed*).

Lavalife - used it for years. It was like shooting fish in a barrel - I imagine it would be even easier for a woman, given the ratios.

^^^ I am just guessing but I bet that is the type of attitude that turns the OP off sites like Lavalife.

^ This.
Especially if you are a professional, I have a few friends who actually met stable, organized, and most importantly, job-holding people here.

Dude, when it comes to dating (or at least meeting people), it's ALWAYS easier for women.
Probably a lot of other things that are harder, still some inequality out there, but wouldn't any guy like to have that kind of power for one week?

Heh? I didn't mean it in the sense that it just got me a laid a lot; I met a lot of great people, including 2 wives. I just meant it in the sense that it was really easy to meet people - what you do with them once you meet them, is up to you.
