A man with a stapler is considered dangerous?
Guess they better institute a "stapler registry" to keep track of these dangerous weapons.

Bump for a few observations from the inquest.

Read below and explain to me why he feels the need to change his story then.
Quote:
RCMP Cpl. Benjamin (Monty) Robinson, the officer in charge at the time and the last of four Mounties to testify at the Braidwood inquiry, admitted he asked to "change" his evidence after viewing a video of the death shot by a bystander.
The inquiry heard that in his initial report, Robinson claimed 12 times that the Polish immigrant swung a stapler at the officers.
This report, along with those of his fellow officers, was proved wrong by a bystander video of Dziekanski's death.
"I was mistaken but I was telling the truth. I sort of blended the whole interaction with him," he told the inquiry Monday.
|
No, IMO you were lying through your teeth.
Quote:
Robinson also told the inquiry Wednesday that he never discussed details of the incident with the other three officers involved, contradicting previously heard testimony.
"The only thing we ever discussed is how everyone was feeling," he said.
He said the officers met for a critical incident debriefing weeks after Dziekanski's death, but disputed Const. Bill Bentley's statement that they discussed details of the death.
|
A debriefing that doesn't discuss the incident?
Looks like the lies started right away.
Quote:
A paramedic called to the Vancouver International Airport after Robert Dziekanski went unconscious said the lead RCMP officer told him the Polish immigrant was Tasered only once.Allan Maciak told the Braidwood inquiry, which is investigating Dziekanski's October 2007 death, that RCMP Cpl. Monty Robinson didn't tell him that the Polish immigrant had been hit by a Taser five times.
|
Quote:
In October, Robinson, 38, was suspended with pay after facing charges in a car accident that killed 21-year-old motorcyclist, Orion Hutchinson.Robinson, who was off-duty, faces charges of impaired driving causing death and exceeding the legal limit. He had his driver's licence suspended for 90 days.

The incident is a violation of human rights as far as Im concerned. Excessive force was unecessary in this instance. You couldnt find somebody to speak polish and translate? You couldnt try and calm him down? nope lets just tase him 4 times and not have to own up to anything. This is NOT justice, these officers should be held accountable.

But sometimes excessive force is necessary!!!
Calm him down? Holy crap. You're a genius. Why didn't the RCMP, security or all the other people that interacted with him try that. All they would have had to do is say, "Just calm down." and I'm sure everything would have been alright.

I think whether or not the use of force was appropriate or not has been beaten to death.
My point is that he and/or his colleagues are lying through his teeth. Either that or they have extremely poor observational skills coupled with short term memory loss. Both characteristics you wouldn't expect your average cop to have.
This fella obviously has a problem with the truth and is right up there with cement truck driver fella in my books for failing to take any responsibility for his actions.
Here he is appealing for his licence back after killing someone whilst under the influence.
Quote:
But while under suspension from service for the accident, Robinson appealed the suspension of his drivers' licence, maintaining he got drunk immediately after the accident.
According to court documents, Robinson said he had two beers at a party early in the evening, roughly five hours before the accident.
Robinson then told police he left scene of the collision, and in the 10 minutes he was gone, he had two shots of vodka, suggesting those two shots drove his blood-alcohol level beyond the legal limit.
Robinson told police he returned to the accident site after drinking the vodka shots, according to court documents.
The judge questioned whether two shots were enough to cause Robinson's blood-alcohol level to exceed .08 per cent.
The judge ruled that given the fact that Robinson offered no evidence around how much alcohol was in those shots, where they came from, or how they were consumed, there was no basis to find fault with the decision to suspend his licence.

That's a perfectly normal thing to do after a RTA. Leave the scene, have some vodka, and return.
Of note:
"investigators recommended charges of impaired driving causing death and impaired driving, but the Crown has yet to lay charges."
Anyone give me a good reason why?

I would suggest the crown is reviewing the case?
Crown might have difficulty with this case since he left the scene.

Please refer to pages 1 through 28.
Edit: I am guessing in Poland, there is a strong possibility, one might just go missing for pulling that stunt.
