You'd be better off selling it on the Buy/Sell here or on a Kijiji/Craigslist type of site.
For a new, sealed game that's going to be a hot seller you should be able to get $45 for it easily. EB might give you $35 if you're lucky.

I was going to recommend doing something I do, but I am almost positive it is illegal so I won't say.
But I say sell it on eBay, if it is RE5 your talking about, you'll probably get $50 at least for it. EB will give you $35 for it, and sell it to others for $60. EB = A Sweaty Nutsack

Finished the game last night - overall a great experience. It did seem shorter than RE4, though, as most of my time was spent figuring out boss fights and replaying them after being horribly killed.

This post is the exact reason why I don't enjoy 4 or 5 as much as 1 and 2. Nobody and I mean nobody finished RE 1 or 2 in five days.

Most games these days take only a few days to beat. It is sort of annoying because you don't really get value for money anymore (unless multiplayer). Loved the days of Zelda where it took me like a 2 months to beat.
I seem to get bored with games really fast these days, 6 years ago I could play Zelda for 5 months straight without being bored. Now I play anything and get bored in 4 days and need a new one.

this is why i generally only buy multiplayer game or ones i know i'll get a lot of replay value out of (like Mass Effect). i hate that feeling of plunking down $50 or $60 for a game only to finish it in a couple of days and realize you'll never play it again

Like Bioshock. I bought Far Cry 2 as well because I thought it would be amazing. Most useless $60 I ever spent.
That is why I think every game should have a strong multiplayer, because it isn't worth it anymore for a game which only has a single player campaign that only lasts 8-12 hours.

Even though I loved the game, I'm forced to agree - I'd guess it took me about 20 hours to get all the way through and that was with, as I said, a significant portion of that being fighting the bosses and trying to figure out the specific steps you have to take to finish them off.
I think much of it has to do with the vastly improved graphics and physics engines games have now - the development resources put into these games are far bigger, but most of the staff are concerned with making the game look good and optimize what's under the hood, and the actual content is secondary. In the PC world, the modding community really takes up that slack and you get games that still have value years after release, but on the console there are very few games that once you've "beaten" there is any reason to go back and explore as there *is* nothing really to explore except the main story.
There are some exceptions like Fallout 3 or Oblivion, where there is more of an effort to create a small "world", but even then there is always some kind of linear quest grafted into the game that you can finish in a few hours if you want to. The best games for going back to ever were of course Diablo and Diablo II, simply because there was an element of randomness in locales and items, plus a plethora of different personas and therefore playing styles you could try out to make each run-through the game somewhat unique.

I'd rather pay $60 for an amazing ten hour game than the same price for an average game that's twenty hours long with multiplayer I don't even enjoy playing.
It's all relative. You can't just say "RE5 is bad value because it's ten hours long". But then, those ten hours are some of the most intense and downright fun action gaming available on any console. Not to mention the incentive to play through on multiple difficulties, upgrading weapons to get infinite ammo, the Mercenaries mode, the downloadable multiplayer expansion pack coming in a few weeks.
You set your game value yourself. You might pay $60 for a five hour game, but if that's one of the best games you've ever played, isn't it worth it more than a game packed with 30 + hours of gameplay that is mediocre?

I somewhat agree, but for me the biggest thing is that I don't know if I see the advantage of the online portion of RE.
That was what made 1 and 2 special is how fun it was to sit alone in the dark, crank up the sound and just giver. And it would take weeks to make progress.
I can see the online advantages to a game like COD but not RE.

Thats because 4 & 5 are basically shooting/action games when RE 1 & 2 had a lot more puzzle solving elements, as far as I can recall. Man those games were awesome. The newer RE's just dont do it for me the way the old ones did, when you combined the atmosphere with the gameplay. You kept wanting to go through that next door loading screen to see what was next. The new ones, like most modern games, focus too much on run and gun gameplay.

I agree with what OutOfTheCube said. If you find a $60 game that only lasts 10 hours but is a great game then it's worth it. The first example that comes to mind is Dead Space. I bought it for $60 when it came out and it lasted about 10 hours but it was an amazing game and well worth $60.
That being said, there are some games that have 20-25 hours of gameplay but it seems to just drag on and on. I'd rather have a game that lasts a small amount of time and doesn't have any additional content added in just in order to pad the completion time stats. An example of this, in my opninion, is Mass Effect. The side quests just seemed tacked on and there was no variety. The main story probably could have taken maybe 8-10 hours to complete but those additional side quests made the completion time jump an additional 5-6 hours.
I think that a game that runs around 12-15 hours is a great amount of time. Back in when I was in school a 20+ hour game was great but now with work and other extra curricular activities (i.e. the girlfriend) a 20+ hour game is difficult to stomach.
And just to kind of stay on topic...I like the previous RE games more than the last few interations. I enjoyed the puzzles and the intensity of the games (saving ammo, having to use your knife more often than not). I think I stopped enjoying the games after Code: Veronica which I guess was RE4 and now RE5. But with RE5, after playing the demo again, I just can't get around the controls. It just seems that there's so many things happening around me but I can't seem to turn around fast enough to see all of that. I just find things very "clunky" though I don't remember ever having those issues for RE4 on the Gamecube. Maybe I'm just getting old now

This is a reason why I love Left 4 Dead so much. Every game you play is different, so it is a different experience everytime. I do wonder though why they only made 4 levels for the entire game, when the graphics aren't even that great for these days standards. Diablo 2 was technically a short game as well, beat it in 8-10 hours, but I played that game for like 3-4 years off and on, everytime different, always wanting my guy to be a higher level, plus there is 5 classes, etc. Diablo 3 can't come fast enough!!
Edit: Wow I really got off topic.

Could be a good long while for that, doesn't look any further along than it was last year around this time.

I really wish they'd redo RE1 like they did for the gamecube.
Just update the graphics, adjust a few of the puzzles and re-release it for 360. I'd love to play RE 1 and 2 again. Even if most of the story is already known to me. I'm just not sure I could go back to the old graphics on PS1.

I wish they'd just make a new one that is the same style as those old ones. Get away from the non-stop action and back to creating some spooky atmosphere, and make it fun to investigate the environments again.
