Hey, I posted this in the PS3 thread, but I'll post it in this one too for all of you to gawk at.
Check out the stats for an online versus game I had yesterday! I had tons of good opportunities, double the puck possession, more than double the shots, and I lost in a shootout!

Wow.

I pwn users that play with Sharks and Wings these days.
I'd probably be top 100 rank if I played more versus games this year. Stuipd EASHL.

AI boned me good against the Oilers tonight. Buddy wins the faceoff in OT, so I tap RT to go cover his pointman. Well AI decides that I should control my winger opposite his pointman and then pulls the rest of my players off to the side of the net for an easy for him. I've found the AI since the patch has been a lot more liberal in taking control of your players.
I may have smashed my controller.

It was dark last night and I didn't see the damage after tossed my controller. The thing is done. $40 down the drain.

With the new patch I get just as frustrated with the officiating as I do in real life. I started a new season after installing the last roster update and I cant even get through a game because I keep turning the game off in frustration because I cant seem to do anything without getting a penalty while Vancouver doesnt get a penalty at all.

Be careful about stick-lifting from behind, don't check players away from the puck and you'll be fine.

lol that's rough. I remember Tiger Woods 03 did that to me. I threw it into the arm of a hide-a-bed sofa. I'd done it several times before and it would always just bounce off the foam. Turns out there was a metal bar that I was missing every single time. Missed a putt and chucked it and it didn't bounce back. I deserved it.

I do that to mine on the couch as to avoid breaking
Edit: Just read Russic's post. Good thing I don't have a hide-a-bed.

I felt the same way for a while but now I'm getting used to it. Just think of it this way, rather than having penalties awarded randomly they call penalties when there is a penalty. Its a lot more like real hockey in terms of having to be careful when you try the stick lift or poke check. You have to execute almost perfectly, and rely on positioning a lot more.
I still think the penalities are called a little too easily, but its been kind of fun re-learning the game defensively and learning to be patient with defensive moves. I've had some good online games after adjusting.

I just remember the 59 dollar price tag for a wireless xbox controller and it seems to stop me from throwing it. Damn dog needs to learn the cost of things though so she doesnt chew my controller anymore, or the headset (4)

Same here, I get so frustrated with the crap calls online. I was playing someone and I got about 9 penalties and he got 2. My calls were such crap, I deserved maybe 2. Everytime I would get the puck he would pokecheck like crazy and always get the puck, never tripped me. Then when I pokecheck him (not from behind), I get a tripping penalty. He pokechecks right between my stick, not the puck, and the puck goes flying off my stick, even my skates and the puck goes flying away. Same with stick lifts, always get slashing penalties. Don't get me started on the ######ed cross checking penalties (he has the puck, I hit him, and I get a penalty).
I will help you guys out, never stick lift with Cammy, he always gets slashing penalties for me, everytime he does it.
Oh and why does EA think Dan Boyle is faster then Curtis Glencross?

If I was in your situation and I lost against the oilers, not only would I throw my controller, I would have probably picked up my consule and let it rip over the balcony!!!

Once I learned what was acceptable, the patch didn't really effect me. Sure I take the odd lazy penalty, but overall I don't take anymore then usual

Anyone else having issues when playing against the CPU, with them scoring from in tight too much? Or is it just that I have Dwayne freaking Roloson as my goalie?
