What has that got to do with this thread?

I absolutely love the series. I watch Life simply because of Damien Lewis.. what an actor!
Crossroads (directed by Tom Hanks) was my favourite episode, and the one that brought me to tears was The Breaking Point. When the Ardennes are being shelled, trees are exploding everywhere and that's the one where Muck gets it. He was my favourite and I cry every time I see that episode.

Bumping this thread for some Pacific news
So, the Australian channel that will be airing the series leaked a promo video onto the web in January. Since then, it appears the video is popping up around the net and being taken down as quickly as HBO can find it. I just spent about an hour looking for the video, but I can't track it down anywhere. I know there is a lot of anticipation from people on this board, and I know we have some pretty damn good internet searchers, so I was wondering if anyone else has seen the video or is able to find it?
Anyways, just a heads up for anybody who has some time to invest in looking for it, the CP community, I'm sure, would be appreciative. Lets all keep our eyes open, as I'm guessing it is bound to show up again at some point.

Deoxyribonucleic Acid, for example... sounds impressive, right? But have you ever seen what happens if you put something in acid? It dissolves! If we had all this acid in our cells, we'd all dissolve! So much for the Theory of Evolution, Check MATE!

I've actually been thinking in the last couple of days that I'm about due for another viewing of the series.

Just finished it last week and have started the book again.
So that makes it 11 times for the video series, and 6 times for the book.

I have it on BluRay now too but I haven't had a chance to watch it though.
I'm looking to sell my DVD set so if anyone is interested PM me. It's in very good condition other than some faint scratch marks on some of the discs that you get on any DVD after some use and some dents on the case which were there when I bought it.

The Blu-Ray version is awesome. Was so happy it was released on Blu, and can't wait to get the new Pacific series on Blu too. I think the best part of the series was the ending, where they revealed all the names of the group while interviewing them. I can't explain it, but it was inspiring.

They haven't released a date yet. Rumours are 2009 some time, but some reports now are saying Feb. 2010

At least with HBO Canada, we might just get the series when the Americans do. Unfortunately, I'll have to subscribe at that point.

I'll have a party for the 1st episode of Pacific series, I still think Band of Brothers is easily one of the best war movies of all time, its hard to argue against that.
Then again, having people over would mean talking/noise, I'd rather soak in the amazing-ness of that moment.
By the way, for those of you who loved Band of Brothers, my 2nd favorite thing HBO has ever made was easily Rome. If you ever have the chance, watch Rome on DVD and you can thank/praise me later for telling you to do it.

Those dates are for the release anywhere. They haven't announced anything official for the States either, so it's all speculation.

I'm scared it won't live up to the original. In fact, there is almost no way it CAN live up to the original.

Oh I agree, I'm not going to hold it to that standard as the actual story of Easy company is so amazing, but I have no doubt that it will still be extremely well done and entertaining as well as enlightening for the viewers, we don't get to see enough about the pacific war IMO.

For me, Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan are the all time best War Movies/Series. Tom Hanks is genius!

Then when you finish watch all the behind the scenes stuff, the video diary of Ron Livingston is excellent, the extra DVD with all the interviews of the real Easy company. Man its all so amazing, these were some unbelievable guys and truly deserving of the title hero.
