Bumping an old thread to post some info on "The Pacific", the follow-up of sorts to Band Of Brothers.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pac...28TV_series%29

I cannot wait. I hope Movie Central get this at the same time as it airs on HBO in 2009.

Great news. Band of Brothers is the best mini series I've seen. If this even comes close, it is a for sure buy.

Apparently the same people are making another mini-series, based on the Pacific War.

Now watch that series and think.....

Do you think CBC could put something like that together for our heroes?

I just got the 720p versions of Band of Brothers... I didn't think this series could get any better but it has.

Also great news about the Pacific.

There's a great looking movie with Paul Gross about Canada's involvement in the Battle of Passchendaele coming out in Fall 2008.

Great news! Thanks for the heads-up! Although it is an entirely different time and place I would highly recommend HBO's "Rome" as well.

I have to concur with the majority on this one. Band of Brothers was by far THE BEST mini-series I've ever seen. Unbelievably well done! I've seen it twice now and could easily watch it another 2 or 3 times. It's even better than any war movie I've ever seen because the length of it allows a scope in which no 3 hour movie can portray. Both times I watched it, when it came to the last one or two episodes I really felt sad knowing it was about to end as it feels like there should be even more.

Great to hear about the Pacific series coming out though. Can't wait!

I heard that the discs were released on HD-DVD in Japan, so maybe eBay or something. Rumour has it, that they may be coming to Blu-Ray as well, so that might be worth waiting for if you have a player.

Just finished Band of Brothers last night... Friggin' awesome series.... Puts things in perspective, I think the most difficult/dangerous thing I've done is maybe move a couch up a flight of stairs... These guys were in a F-ing World War.
