I've heard stories of poor reliability on the V-Modas. They also don't block out sounds like most in ear phones do. I've got a rebranded pair of Vibes that I like except they've got a 2.5" plug that requires an adapter which is a pain.
Right now I'm using JVC FXC50's although I preferred the JVC FX66's if not for the buds always falling off them.

From personal experience, stay far away from the Smokin' Buds from Skull Candy. Awful headphones in my opinion. The sound is alright for the price but for me they are some of the worst for actually staying in my ear. I would push them in and the isolation is good, but within minutes they are loose, or even falling off. Very crappy silicone ear piece.
The ones I use now are some cheap $20 ones I picked up when I was in London since my Apple ones broke, and they are surprisingly good, how ever, they are British so my suggestion would be useless.
My friend swears by the Boss ones for $100, loves them, I don't though.
Sennheiser has some good ones, I forget the model #, but the ones for around $100 are decent. As are the Shure ones for $100.

Really? With 3 different sizes of ear pieces it should be pretty easy to find one that works. I use the original size and they are nice and snug, yet don't hurt my ears after continual use.

I had the skullcandy in-ear buds and the end came off in my ear. You don't know fear until something gets wedged in your ear canal. It may not have been the same model that Flip mentioned ... I don't remember them being that expensive. I guess that's what you get when you cheap out.
I'm currently using shure buds ... I really like them, but they don't control my iphone which hurts a little. I can buy an add-on piece that acts as a mic but I don't think i can control my music with them.

Its not that they were uncomfortable for me, they just didn't stay in my ear. I would push them in so they would isolate, but within minutes they would come out a bit, not isolating anymore, and sometimes fall out. I tried all 3 sizes, nothing worked for me. I just found the silicone piece to not be that flexible, the ones I have now I can stick in my ear without falling out because the material is much better.

I prefer some good bass, but I'm not really too sure what is out there. I was looking around, and so if anyone has any suggestions please shout them out!
My friend said for ~$20-30 I can get these Creative EP-630 which is supposedly a bargain... but I know nothing about head phones.
Thanks!

Don't go to futureshop. If you are looking for something around 80-90, go to Axe music and scope out some of their sound stuff.
You could get some decent sennheisers or something of similar quality for $100.
Don't get the crap brands like Sony, Bose, Panasonic etc...
Oh and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD do not get skull candy phones.

Bose isn't a crap brand, their stuff is just way overpriced.
I would think the stuff at Axe Music would be quite expensive. I buy my guitar stuff from them, and their prices are good for that stuff, but I find the other stuff to be pricey.

I am using skullcandy at this second. For the price I've had no complaints. Admittedly I've never been a huge audiophile, and just want to listen to my music (I have ripped my CDs to 192 though so I'm not completely hopeless)
My view on thise type of headphones is I will likely abuse them and break them. I've typically kinked a cord on earbuds and one of them shorts our after a year or two so I'm not prepared to spend a huge amount of money on them. I also think since we're all likely listening to compressed mp3s we don't need perfectly rendered music. If you are an audiophile then you probably aren't going to use earbuds anyway.
The Smokin Buds I'm using now are over a year old and have held up fine so far. I find they fit my ears well and do isolate some of the noise just like ear plugs would. I also consider a volume control on the cord a must as it allows me to change the volume easier than pulling out the media player. These suit my needs and my price point.

For the same price as a pair of Bose headphones, you could get some decent mid-range Sennheisers or AKGs.
Axe has great prices on their headphones. Really great.

Friends don't let friends buy Bose or Behringer!
Sennheiser pwns. They have a long history of building professional calibre microphones and headphones.
I have also used a plethora of their "low end" or "consumer" products and they kick ass as well.
Although, to be fair, I detest ear-buds of all kinds unless they are professional-grade "in-ear monitors" with a built in limiter. When I see anyone pre-pubescant wearing 'ear-buds' I cringe over the hearing damage they are causing.
I reccomend only using headphones which cover the outer ear. Not earbuds.

Good points. I may only be 18, but I agree with the hearing damage, I have been wearing earbuds for 8 years now, loudly I may add (not as loud as some people), but I can tell my hearing isn't as sharp as it should be.

Bose in ear>>>Sennheiser in ears
I know Sennheiser makes some great stuff, but their in ears are not even close to the Bose ones. Havn't tried AKGs.

I don't know about that. Bose has long been discussed as one of the greatest hoaxes of all time. Nothing but $ for advertising with no actual good products. I'm a fence sitter because frankly I don't listen to bose enough to care.

I've tried both and pick Bose only because of my experience. It's the only Bose product I have ever owned I couldn't care less about the advertising or the fact that many of their products are over-priced for what you get.
I'm only endorsing this specific item because it ended years of headphone searching for me and I've tried almost every brand out there.
But don't take my word for it, try them yourself. I'd be shocked if anyone tried them head to head with Sennheiser in-ears of that price range, and picked the Sennheisers.

The problem I have with Bose isn't the quality of their products.. tons of manufacturers focus on the low and high ends and ignore anything close to quality. And that's fine if you're RCA or Teac or whatever.
However Bose sell designer products at high prices, they are all about image and style and appeal to consumers that way. They position themselves so people think they're good stuff a notch above everyone else, but in reality they have poor products.
I can't speak specifically to the Bose in ear headphones, maybe an engineer got his way for once and they made a good product.
But in general the company is at the same level as Monster cable in my mind.
