Loving this patch. I'm 6-1 with it. Guys try scoring cheap goals on me all the time. I've seen one kind of cheese goal go in so far in 7 games. Guy was cutting to the left a tad by the hash marks and wristed it in the opposite corner. Didn't work again.
SO many idiots keep trying the wrap arounds on me.

idk about anyone else, but im kind of pissed off at this stupid patch
i have not changed my style of play, i normally get 2/3 penalties per game, but for the past 3 games on this new patch:
me: 18 penalties (2 games where i had 4 consecutive in 3rd period)
cpu: 3

on top of normally not finding it easy to win at the difficulty i am in (too easy on the one below) now it seems harder to score, the cpu has it easier to score...
also game after my last post: i had 6 penalties to cpu 0
2nd game after: i had 10 penalties, cpu had 1
not liking this patch

Had the same problem, but then my roomies and I dropped the penalties slider down to 1 up from min and now it seems more reasonable...we had it cranked before.
Our first game we had 40PIM!

Yeah, I tried putting the trades in tonight but kept on getting the 'roster can only have 23 players' alert for every trade I tried to put in so I just got frustrated and shut it off.

I loved playing on the penalty kill, send out Lombo...but I can't anymore.  He got me so many shrothanded goals, and normal goals, he will be missed by my NHL 09 team. 
He once got a shorthanded hattrick for me.

Yeah, well you should be learning how to use the umbrella PP now, especially with Jokinen on the team.
Also get closer to the opposition player. If you can learn where your player contacts another player, you can do the soft pick's and get your other players that extra stride. Of course, it require tremendous discipline on not smacking that RH stick around or mashing on the check button.

or Right bumper? should be the corresponding button. It's the one that does saucer passes. You just have to jab it, make sure you don't do a full press.

Well I have played a few games online and this is a friggen awful patch. Honestly, I got 12 penalties my first game (I won 2-0), and every other game I am getting at least 4-5 penalties in the 1st period alone. None are interference, all are trips, slashes, or highstickes. Honestly this is crap, the other team gets nothing and I get everything. Makes me consider trading the game in, awful awful patch. They didn't even take the glitch goals out, played Washington and had to quit after the first, I can only take someone trying to glitch goal me a few times, when they do it over 20 times in a period I'm out.

Just throwing this out there........ but maybe it's something you're doing, rather than the patch.

I agree...its horrendous. Every other hit seems to result in a penalty. It took me and my brother 3x longer to finish a standard head to head game. Wasn't even fun. I find it way too easy to move the puck around now, at least defense was really effective in the last version. Now you can't even touch the guy without a penalty. Sucks, the patch seems to make the game hyper offensive. I guess they wanna be like the real NHL.
