They will be polarized lenses, not the cheapie red/blue ones, so all plastic.

No, it isn't.
Ridiculous waste like this helps me to justify living a wasteful western lifestyle. Honestly, no amount of personal conservation will overcome some morons business decision to send out 150,000,000 3d glasses for one commericial.

You can get the US commercials UNLESS you live in a market that has over-the-air HD (I believe Toronto and Vancouver are the only two Canadian markets that have this). Last year, Bell ExpressVu had a dedicated channel (created just for the Super Bowl) that had the US commercials but was blacked out in Toronto and Vancouver.

If David Suzuki had said that, I would have cut down a 100 year old tree just to spite him.

Since you said it, I'll only stomp a sapling flat.

Movie looks alright.

Just to tune in on the US commercials, if you have Shaw Digital go to channel 82 or something, it is the Rochester feed, and you DO get all the US commercials.

Was a total scam.
Yup, but I think it was 7-Eleven (it may have been Mac's too since it was a Coke promotion).

yes Shaw does NOT simsub the digital or HD feeds. i think we're supposed to for the digital ones at least, but the Shaw family really seems to hate anyone trying to tell them what to do and like fighting the CRTC at any opportunity, so they've just "forgotten" to simsub the digital channels and haven't really been called on it yet

If NFL fans haven't noticed, for about 4 or so weeks, Shaw has been simsubbing (by CRTC threat) for CITY-TV, and the wildcard games this weekend were simsubbed on FOX-Detroit (ch 82). They were still available in original format on HD (ch 208) because the CRTC rules apply to a 50 mile radius of the CTV HD station (currently Toronto and Vancouver).
(There is a good explanation at this forum http://www.satelliteguys.us/canadian...bowl-bell.html and the CRTC decision is here http://crtc.gc.ca/archive/ENG/Decisi...db2008-358.htm ).

In this case, it's sure not Shaw, but the glorious jerks at CTV.
AND, rumour has it that CTV Calgary will be HD on Jan 15.
If so, hello Canadian Tire ads, good-bye to the Super Bowl the way it's supposed to be. (And you won't be needing those 3-D glasses.)
