Seems like a big stretch to make the leap of Sandro going to the NFL because of that simple comment.
Perhaps if it were in the off-season when Sandro had already worked out for teams but considering that he has a very small chance of making in the NFL and there will be better kickers coming out of college I can't imagine that Peter King really cares too much, if he knows at all, about Sandro.
|
I'd be shocked if he hadn't heard of Sandro. As you pointed out, I'm sure they know about the Grey Cup and wouldn't be at all surprised if he heard about Sandro wanting to try for the NFL.

Sandro had a good year last year but it wasn't as though he was better than all the kickers in the past 20 years of the CFL and in that time there has been less than a handful of kickers that have made it in the NFL.
It isn't as though he is going to be a hot commodity to teams in the off-season (I don't even think he has a good shot of making a team) or any better than 5-6 kickers coming out of NCAA.
I think he may know the name but I can't imagine he is spending much time thinking/caring about a kicker that might make it in the NFL next season. Especially not when dealing with a 8 team league to choose a city from.
I maintain it is much, much more likely that he went with the city he just heard had won the Grey Cup.

Drew Rosenhaus isn't just a bad person, he is a bad interview now as well.
What a waste of time having him on at half time as he refused to answer any real question and spent the whole time sucking up to the Giants and talking about how great they are.
I know that 95% of agents are scum buckets but this guy takes it to another level with his crap. Sports would be an infinitely better place without jerks like him and Scott Boras involved.

What were you expecting him to say? I'm not disagreeing that some agents are jerks. But what kind of answer could he give considering his clients legal problems?

Yeah, I watched the Seahawks and Rams earlier this year. The Stadium in Seattle is pretty awesome. Than again...I detail Structural steel for a living, so I have a fascination for big open air sports stadiums. Watch out though...hot dogs are like $6 and a beer will set you back $8! But in week 3 against a hapless Rams team the atmospere at the stadium was pretty good.

I didn't expect him to talk about Plaxico specifically, but he can't answer the question about nothing good coming from players having guns?
Really that is a tough question to answer?
Plus, not sure that every answer had to be "The Giants are great, the Giants are class, the Giants are the best."
Obviously some of the blame has to go to ESPN for having him on when he wasn't going to answer anything, but if he knew he wasn't going to say anything why not say "sorry I can't comment on anything at this point and it wouldn't be appropriate for me to come on." The answer to that is that Rosenhaus would never pass up the opportunity to promote himself and this situation is the perfect chance for him to do that.

I can't believe Rosenhaus compared it to the Sean Taylor thing, about having to "protect yourself". That was just embarassing, I could almost hear the collective slap of hands against foreheads by everyone watching that interview. Rosenhaus is an absolute scumbag, and he totally looks the part too.

Drew Rosenhaus screwed up on his negotiation for Burress, he did not get enough guaranteed money.
Quote:
The Giants can cut or trade Burress after the season and simply eliminate $23 million of the $27-million-in-new-money deal he signed with the Giants. In effect, as I said on NBC last night, when I examine the deal, I see the contract totally on the come. And the first big test of this contract will come on Dec. 10, when Burress is due $1 million from the original and only guaranteed money in the deal, the third installment of a $4.325-million signing bonus when he signed.
|
(from the Monday Morning QB by Peter King I referred to yesterday)
So he is trying to stroke the Giants in hopes they don't cut Burress.

Is this implying that PK knows something about Sandro being NFL-bound? I can't see him just pulling Calgary out of the hat.
And an aside - I hadn't heard about Dr. Z before this. Get well, Z.
|
I think he totally pulled Calgary out of the hat. It's probably because they're the first team that came to his mind regarding the CFL, because they just won the Grey Cup last week. I really doubt he's heard of Sandro DeAngelis before.

I dunno dude, I still think he doesn't know who he is. If someone doesn't follow the league, I'm sure they wouldn't know the players. Regarding the Grey Cup, I think the only thing he knew was that the team Flutie and Garcia used to play for, the Calgary Stampeders, beat the alouetta Montreal Allouettes.
All the comment was supposed to mean is that if Lindell doesn't get his butt in gear and start making some field goals, he's gonna find himself out of the league. Nothing more.

I went to the Seahawks/Saints last season. You can catch an express bus from almost anywhere in the city that will take you directly to the game.
There is not a bad seat in the stadium, the city/sound view is great, and I strongly recommend the garlic fries...

Awesome! That was the Monday Nighter wasn't it? That game was actually the same night as me and the girl's anniversary, she told me later that was going to be my anniversary present, but she couldn't get tickets. I was there for the last pre-season game, against Oakland, that year. Unbelieveable stadium, and the crowd was rockin even for the pre-season.
I'll have to remember that about the fries next time I'm there. I tried the rice bowl for some reason(just seemed so hilariously out of place at a football game that I had to try it). But somethin about chicken & rice bowls with tons of sauce along with 6 Budweisers didn't agree with me...

Sunday night, that was the game when the "sky cam" came down and almost took out Matt Hasselbeck. Turns out the Saints didn't need any help that night!
We were about 4 rows from the top of the stadium, right on the 50 yard line. There was a contingent of about 35-40 Saints fans right in that same area, so we had a great time.
I had a couple extra tickets that I ended up selling to a young couple from Vancouver. They were Saints fans, but I still gave them a hard time about the 'Nucks.

Cribbs was quite the QB in the dual threat mold back at Kent Sate.
Quote:
In his career, he passed for 55 touchdowns and ran for 38 more. His 38 rushing touchdowns are a Kent State record. In addition, he holds the Kent State school record for career pass completions (616), pass attempts (1,123), passing yardage (7,169), touchdowns scored (41), and points scored (246).
Cribbs is also the only player in NCAA history to lead his team in both rushing and passing in four different seasons.
